Question about 2003 Oldsmobile Alero

Starting Problem 2003: will not crank & panel lights will not come on when this occurs (if panel lights come on it will start)..Thinking but unsure that it could be a starting relay problem, I open the hood and tap the black relay box next to the firewall..This has always worked over a long period of time, I would like to know if anyone else has the same problem?

THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT DO NOT DELAY REPAIRS AS THE FUSE BOX CAN BURN AND THIS WILL BE COSTLY. HAVE YOUR LOCAL AUTO ELEC CARRY OUT THE REPAIRS

My Nissan altima 2003 won't start but I smell fuel what could that be

Open the throttle all the way when starting. To much fuel is fouling out the spark plugs. If it still doesn't start check for spark, if its there, replace the plugs.

I have a 2003 Volvo s40. Recently the check engine light and DSA light have been coming simultaneously. Sometimes it is only the check engine light. The only symptom I have seen is that the car turns over...

So you really have done nothing at all

You never checked for codes
You never looked at scan tool data

You threw a part at it, with no testing

You had the check light cleared & lost ALL
Data needed to diagnose the car

I have a 2003 Ford Focus with 33,000 miles & my check engine light went on. The mechanic said no codes came up & nothing is wrong. Could this be true? Thank you in advance, Grace

Grace, try going to an Auto Parts Store like Auto Zone. They will check your computer codes for free. If for any reason the battery was disconnected, or very low when starting engine, the data could have been cleared. Was the light on when checked for codes? Or did it just come on then go out? Certain issues may clear themselves after a time of driving with the issue NOT occuring again.

2003 Chrysler Town & Country Instrument panel keeps going on and off. Gauges peg out then go to zero and the odometer and the P123D lights go out. AFter about 15 seconds every thing comes back on, ...

Possible error in the dash cluster, the wiring, connectors or the panel electronics. If the fault occurs while driving could this be relative to the vibration of the instrument panel. If so you might have to have a very closer look without thinking of changing tthe whole unit.
tap within to see if the fault is recurring if so get closer to the area of contact.

2003 sunfire 4dr starting problem

when this occurs locate the crankshaft position sensor mounted somewhere on the bell housing ,take a small hammer and lightly tap it while someone cranks the car over if it fires right up you got your culprit, sometimes this will work and sometimes not but the only way to test this sensor is with a graphing multimeter a good shop should be able to test this for you( you can also see if the car has spark when this problem is occurring by pulling a spark plug wire and laying it close to a good ground, or plug a test spark plug in the wire and ground it with the supplied lead, if you have no spark this sensor can also be your problem . these problems can be annoying and hard to locate but give this a try i have a good feeling about this one ;) please rate
