Why is there no heat?

Does the engine warm up before driving it? I ALWAY start my truck awhile before I drive (so I don't break the valves and so I can have heat). Mainly because it's an 8.0l v10 magnum (it's gigantic).

Where do the vacuum hoses go from the control 1999 Dodge Pickup

first ... Make sure that you have vacuum to your control head. This is normally the black vacuum line. The vacuum than goes to the various vacuum motors on the Heater /AC case. These vacuum motors rarely fail. The normal fault is loss of engine vacuum ..cut line or not secure to engine. second.. a fault with the vacuum reserve reseviour. When the engine needs the vacuum this is your vacuum supply.

check the resistance on the coil. to check the primary resistance on coil, remove plug from coil using an ohm meter connect one lead to the positive terminal and the other to the negetive terminal to find the primary resistance. primary resistance should be 0.95-- 1.20 ohms. then to find the secondary resistance connect one of the leads to the primary terminal and the other to the large center terminal. secondary resistance should be 11,300--13,300 ohms.

No heat

You probably just need to backflush your heater core. You can use a hose to flush it back and then forward. You'll be surprised at how much sludge and gunk will come out.

Pickup wont start

well you can short over the starter and see if it starts. honestly i would remove the starter and take it to your local autozone. they will check it for free. also check the start solenoid. they have a tendency to cause the same effect.
