Alternator not charging
drive belt broken or loose
alternator fuse blown
diode failure
to get closer to the problem take it to an accredited auto electrician and have a proper diagnosis done and a quote
power lamp not charge./battery
only needs, for OP to read the operators guide, no electrician needed to turn a switch off.

the XL7 (no dash) has low power mode warnings.

that is the newer XL7
the older XL-7 and all vitara class.
the power switch is the transmission mode switch\
this switch changes shift points. 4speed a/t Gm.
the switch is set to P for power mode.
reach over to the P/N switch and flip it.
say pulling trailer or driving like a kid for fun.
the other mode saves fuel. its covered in your guide.
your choices, the above covers 1993 to the newest susuki, power lamps.
i have the car, but sold it, and have all the suzuki books, on all 4wd. and more.
the charge lamp is totally different.
