Rear door won't open

You can get the panel off with the door closed. I just took mine off because of the same problem. The top portion is only connected with some clips inside the panel. Take the screws out of the rear side window first. The panel will pop off if you gently pry with a flatbar. under the panel are three screws. Remove the screws and lift up on the bottom panel. It comes right off. Find the cable that goes to the top latch and pull it. It should release and you can replace the door latch assembly. Mine were both broken and I am in the process of fixing them.

1999 Ford F150 supercab - back driver door won't open

You will have to open it from the inside-Yes, I have done it and it takes about 15 min. or so.-I have also posted about 40 images, after I opened the door-In an effort to contribute a little to all the lost souls with the Curse of the F150 3rd Door issue. Hope this helps-BTW I just did this on 12/04/2011-found my particular issue-I will need a new cable, so I'll have to go to the dealer tomorrow and buy one. Also included images of the tools needed-Good Luck!

The bottom latch was rusted locked. I had to pull on bottom rod after top was already released and kick out the bottom of the door. I had to replace the bottom latch.

THERE IS A MICROSWITCH INSTALLED REAR DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY. THIS NOT A SERVICABLE PART, THE ENTIRE LATCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS THE "DOOR SIDE" OF THE LATCH ASSEMBLY.

The rear door on the passenger side of my 99 f150 triton v8 extended cab stopped opening all of a sudden. There have been no collisions with that side that I know of - there are no marks on that side. ...

Sounds like the actuator rods have popped loose from the handle or the latch mechanism. (Probably the handle).
If you can get the door panel loose (and pulled away from the door) you should be able to reach in and release the latches so you can open it, to work on it.
Door panels are normally held on with little plastic "christmas trees". They do make a tool for taking panels off, but you can do it with a stiff putty knife.

Drivers side door is stuck and won't open at all. I beleive it ha something to do with the locking mechanism. How can this be repaired?

It may be as simple as adjust ing the rods that actuate the mechenism, or it may be that you need to replace the assembly.
Try cleaning and lubricating it first, Once you do get it open, tighten any attaching bolts and / or screws. Then you need to do a visual inspection to see if the rods are moving far enough.
