we are not mind readers so if you want advice the question you ask has to make sense
you can add a turbo to the engine but turbos and superchargers give you more power
The sacrifice is less economy but you can trade that off with economical driving habits and chip tuning on a dyno
having a turbo professionally fitted, dyno tuned and properly chipped will make the engine more responsive and as a result there will be less accelerator required to achieve the same results as in a normally aspirated engine
To get better economy from an engine now is not as easy as the older engines because the ECM continually tunes the system to maximum power and economy and by having the fault codes read on a regular basis, you can help monitor the performance by replacing or repairing reported faulty sensors and equipment
In the past , engineers built an engine, tested it and then because of technology restrictions, de-tuned it to gain reliability. That is why additions such as power camshafts, exhaust headers, tuned extractors, enlarged exhaust pipes, cdi ignition packs all had such a marked increase in performance and economy
now with variable cam shaft positioning, crankshaft position ignition technology, better balanced internals, exact air/fuel for the load and rpms most of the add on gear gains nothing worth noting as it is already in the engine construction
Again turbos gain extra power but at a cost unless it is already designed into the engine performance and ECM parameters
So to conclude, as it has always been, economy has always been very much up to the driver habits, driving conditions , traffic conditions, speed, load , tire pressures, vehicle design, air flow restrictors ( roof racks etc) even down to selecting neutral when at lights or switching off while waiting in traffic
Probably not what you want to read but generally a turbo is more power and all most drivers can think of when fitting a turbo is the power push from the seat as the boot is applied and they forget about, then complain about the actual loss of economy

High fuel consumption

Hi There,

If you are wanting to lessen the high fuel consumption you must do the following.
1 - Over-Reving is a big no no. Keep the revs between 2 and 4 thousand rpm. (it is highly easy to over rev so lessen the throttle)
2 - You can buy a product called octane booster. The higher the octane in the fuel tank the better for your car. To use insert into fuel tank as you would a bowser nozzle and release amount of octane as per product intructions prior to filling up with petrol, then add petrol after. This ensures proper mixing of octane throughout tank.

Hope this helps

Cheers Buckaroo,
Chris.

Take the vehicle for a scan there must be an error reporting issue that has caused the increase in fuel consumption.
