Water light used to come on intermittently. Drove through a puddle and water light came on. Recently dash lights stopped working. Power door locks word on some doors, not others. Are any of these connected? Is there wiring under the car that would be affected by water, ie. water level light?
Nope, theres nothing under the car wires run along the inside of the doors under the carpet, about your door locks, the drivers controls the lock/unlock make sure you have so the passengers can unlock, also check your child lock lever on the rear doors , make sure those are move in the right position, if you got the child safety on sometime the driver piwer swutch wont open it, make sure your courtesy light is not all the way off, the Dimmer, it controls the instrument panel lights, FUSE FOR THE COURTESY, i belive is conected to the door lights, halo on your key or light, glove box light, and your dome light's. Hope this helps, CHECK FUSES WITH METER OR TEST LIGHT.

Testimonial: "It's not the fuse. The dome light and other lights come on. It's just the dash lights, so maybe it's the bulb? How do you change the bulb?"

Theres, a hand full of mibulbs on the cluster,(its rare for all to burn out at the same time), pull the cluster out clean the plug, s make sure there not broken or corrosion build up,, you can test the harness for power 12v + with a test light or meter, the wire that gives you 12v+ when you turn the headlight switch on is the one for your illumination of the cluster, turn headlight switch on and off ,test each one of the wires on the cluster plug this way until you find it or check the schematic for the color code wire..
What's a water light?
Where is the access to the cluster? Is it from the engine compartment or from under the dash? (Water light is the light that idicates low water in radiator)
Ok, the coolant level light, have you check your coolant level in the radiator(the cold wheater will keep your car from overheating but the coolant could be low),radiator cap defective or loose, N#2-are your electric fans working, #3coolant temperature sensor and relay , make sure your heater is full blast and turn on when refilling the coolant system, let me ask you a? What makes you think your problem is at the instrument cluster..
The overflow bottle is were the coolant low level sensor would be.
Echo 1.5 Liter engine, automatic or manual transmission?
THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE DASH LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON SO I CANNOT SEE THE SPEEDOMETER AT NIGHT. THE DIMMER IS NOT WORKING. I THOUGHT THE OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES MIGHT BE RELATED, BUT OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE NOT. I JUST NEED TO KNOW HOW TO FIX ONE PROBLEM. HOW TO GET THE DASH LIGHT ON SO I CAN SEE THE SPEEDOMETER.
K, Emily , the dimmer switch is also your main interior and.cluster lights Relay, is connected to everything ,doors, cluster, stereo illumination, try poping it out from behind, that way you dont break anything, Relays do go bad, first check fuse number 30 is 7.5 amp fuse so the color is like a brownish light, thays your cluster light fuse, do that before you pull any thing out, you got a fuse box behind the coin tray and another one in the engine compartment, please let me know if the fuse is good we will go from there, i will do my best to try to help you out..
