Question about Hyundai Tucson

1 Answer

Just bought a 2006 Hyundai Tucson. The front wipers will only work if I push the button for the washer fluid. I'm not too sure what the issue could be.

Operation is synchronized so you don't wipe a dry windshield. Prevents scratching.

A lot of wiper motors are grounded through the mounting of the wiper motor assembly. Corrosion moister can degrade the connection and give you the symptom you're experiencing.

Yes it could be the wiper relay. The best thing to do is switch it with another relay like your air conditioning relay. All the relays are the same. Then see if it works. If so you know the relay you took out is bad and you should be able to go to a Hyundai dealership and get one. They cost about $20

Rear window washer does not spray fluid. When I push the rear window washer button, the front washer/wipers turn on. The rear wipers work normally.

I have the same problem with my 2000 chevy blazer as skornec had posted. I kinda already figured the hose or spray nozzle was plugged. But the problem with checking those items is that I don't know where the hose is located to the back wiper. And the only thing that could be I see that could be the spray nozzle doesn't even have holes that washer fluid could spray from. So basically I just would LOVE if someone could please inform this lame brain of where to find the spray nozzle on the rear window and where in the interior of my blazer does the washer hose run.

Probably need to replace the pump. Separate pumps for front and rear. Check with a test light to see if there is power to the pump. If it has power but won't work, replace the pump. If no power, you have a wiring issue. Be sure to turn the switch on and have someone push the washer button when you are checking for power. There won't be any until you push it to "wash".

Rear windshiled washer fluid doesn't work

It is important to always use washer fluid designed for cold weather. Even if you refill in warm months use the washer fluid with the antifreeze protection since you may not use the rear window cleaner enough to flush out all of the summer washer fluid.
