Does the car have the check engine light on? Verify the air control valve for proper operation, it only works when the ac is on.

Why my car boggs when the AC is turned on

many people experience a shaking or vibration when the Air Conditioning is on when they have an issue with the AC Compressor. It's also possible there could be a clogged up vent/duct. Bear in mind, air conditioning systems usually weigh over 100lbs in a car and do put a considerable amount of extra strain on the engine to run them, so most every car will be 'bogged down' a bit, but it shouldn't be too significant. So if the problem is mostly noticeable when you are stopped at a red light, or idling in some way - I wouldn't be too concerned.

2004 Chrysler Voyager, had an acrid burning smell and a lot of smoke when heater is turned on, also a rattling/squealing noise, all stops when heater turned off?

you more than likely have a sciezed air con compressor. most modern cars have climate control which uses air con even when demisting and when engaged the electric clutch tries to engage but the pump itself will not turn, clutch will get red hot and burn your belts

98 voyager computer reset?

after a battery is died or remove/replace the computer needs to run a self test on all the sensors and emissions test will not run test until what they call monitors have run so that is a normal function and low freon charge shuts the system off to prevent compressor damage the light will flash instead of turning on

Air conditioning on the front window is blowing all the time

Yes , when your in defrost mode, the compressor runs, and adjusting temperature control up a little, may get you through. When you go to heat mode, compressor shuts off. The idea of the compressor running is that it assists in removing moisture(humidity) to speed up the process of defrosting.

1991 3.3L Plymouth Voyager, Transmission temp sticks in first.

John, this sounds like a valve hanging up in the valve body. The car shifts when the govenor pressure overcomes throttle valve pressure in this valve body.

What is the condition of the fluid? Is it at all dark or grey, does it smell burnt? It should be a nice light pink. If not, have the fluild and filter for the trans changed. This may take care of the problem.

If the oil is really burnt, you are at the end of the life of the clutches and you are looking at a complete trans rebuild. If the oil is ok, a trans shop should be able to take just the valve body down, clean it and eliminate the problem without overhauling the entire transmission

good luck
