Ford festiva, production date 10/88,fuel injected, does the A/C wiring harness have anything to do with the cooling fan,not the condenser fan operating?I know when you turn the A/C on the engine cooling fan...

Hi,
I dont believe so. Your cooling fan kicks on by a signal from the temperature sensor. The signal goes to the PCM which in turn sends a voltage to activate a relay which powers up the fan. Most fans are 2 speed and when the A/C is used, a second relay kicks the fan into high gear. So, your fan should run at some point after the engine reaches/exceeds operating temperature regardless of if your A/C is on or not. If it does not come on, check your relays first. (you can swap them around to check them) and then your temp. sensor. You can apply direct voltage to the fan itself to check that the fan motor is working. Hope that helps!

89 ford festiva l wont go into 5th gear how do i fix it

88 - 89 festiva "L" models came with a 4 speed. Unless it has been swapped with a 5 speed from an 88 - 89 "LX" or a 90 - 93 festiva 4 gears is all you have. Everything you ever wanted to know about your festiva can be found a fordfestiva.com. I've seen 8 festivas with 500,000 miles now. They are bullet proof and big time fun. Easy to work on too. And most owners are really down to earth because we don't care what people think of us. Festivas are also easy and cheap to make very fast. Get on the forum. We will welcome you!

The main cooling fan on my 89 camry runs all the time

It's the fan relay, generally when the temp sensor goes bad the fan won't come on at all.

'92 Ford Festiva stalls when overheats

it sounds like your radiator fan is not working. once your engine reaches a certan temp. the fan should come on to cool it down. also might be the thermostat is not opening. it is not good for the motor at all to over heat and stall. you could ruin your engine. i would change thermostat first and then run it till it starts getting hot to see if the fan kicks on. if it doesn't, it could be the coolant sensor or the fan itself. good luck.

1989 Ford Festiva, keeps stalling as driving.

I had the exact same problem. The cooling fan was failing to come on and thus overheating the engine. Check the cooling fan, cooling fan thermoswitch, and cooling fan relay ( behind drivers headlight ). If you pull the connector off of the thermoswitch the fan will come on whenever the car is in "run"

Inner tie rods

Most of the time when you are not able to get inner tie rod ends it's because you would have to replace the rack and pinion assy. to take care of the inner tie rod issue.
