I have a 2004 ford explorer. My ac only blows cold air and their is an knocking noise coming from the dash in the area around the ac. Can you please help?

That is the blend door actuator. It is mounted on the top of the evaporator case behind the radio/glove box area. The plastic gears inside of that device wore their teeth off and won't open the heater core side of the case.

under the dash you might be able to reach it if you open the glove box and lower the door down by pressing the two taps on the sides of the glove box the lever is to the left alomost behind the radio but closer to the glove box. if you can't reach it you will have to remove the radio to get to it then.

2004 Ford Explorer and my heat does not work I turn it on but it only blows cold air Also when I take it off cold to turn the heat up it's starts making a ticking sound like something is

The mode door actuator is stripped, youll have to buy a replacement from a ford dealership, they will stock it its a very common fault. To access it remove the glove box and youll be able to access 2 of the 3 mounting screws just break off the third youll probably have to remove the right air duct to gain access.
