After ages searching finally found this on the Cobra site.... A8510 KEY PROGRAMING Ensure the immobiliser is disarmed :- 1) Switch the ignition ON and OFF three times then back to the ON position within seven seconds. 2) The LED on the dashboard will light up signaling the unit is in programming mode. 3) Touch an already programmed key onto receptical, the LED will extinguish for one second 4) Repeat step 3 for all other keys (Max of 4 touch keys) 5) To exit programming switch off the ignition key (unit will automatically exit programming after four keys) NOTE :- 1) Programing procedure can only entered with the system disarmed. 2) If all keys have been lost the system will need to be replaced

I have a second hand ecu which I want to fit to my fiat coupe 20 v turbo but I only have one basic key ,how can I bypass the immobiliser ? Thankyou

I would check with Fiat first on what you will need to do if you change the ECU. It may be as simple as programming a new key to the system once you do a swap or it may not.

The systems are complex and vary from vehicle to vehicle so check with Fiat before you do anything.

I have an 05 Outlander with a post manufacture cobra car alarm. Both of my fobs have stopped working - at same time! Immobiliser still works but cannot put alarm on. I am having to lock the car with the...

When both stop working in the same time, you should not look at the fobs, but to the receiver or the logic in the alarm system in the first place. Like if two key don't fit in the lock, anymore, the keys did not change, but the lock.
But perhaps you should ask a tech to solve this problem. To diagnose this one is a bit difficult not being on the car myself.

dealer only to rectify the factory immobilisor ,their is no way you can restart vehicle if this immobilisor is on ,try the spare keys and if that doesnt work then call tow truck and have it taken to a dealer but if this vehicle has additional alarm as well then this may need to be removed to reset immobilisor ,If the add on alarm is over two years old then after this time they go wrong causing no end of problems which is why i advise never to fit these remote start alarm thingys

Toyota hilux surf immobiliser problem.

My KZTE Double Cab Bakkie (Utlity vehicle) comes with a Factory fitted central locking system
Yesterday the Remote would not un-lock the vehicle. The battery in the remote has been checked and seems ti be OK. I managed to open the vehicle (coat hanger through rubber on door method), when opening teh door the alarm went off (hooter etc). I placed the remote in the de-activating housing but it did not de-activate the alarm. I am now driving around with the flashers going for 20 seconds or so every time I open a door, but teh vehicle drives (I took out the hooter fuse to keep my sanity)..

Please help

Regards

Anthony

First: alarm went off on its own.(mazda 6 2003). Now when locking and unlocking car sometimes indicators flash and sometimes not. Now red immobaliser light is flashing on dash when driving, then stops...

there is often a small back up battery in the immobiliser unit itself, if you can locate this unit and replace the battery with the ignition on / engine running, then it should not need recoding and work fine after that. The other thing that could be wrong is the key battery (if the fob has one) or the transponder chip in the key head. If the key signal is low the immobiliser lamp will light during driving, but this does not explain the alarm going off. That is more likely either a poor vehicle battery, alarm / immobiliser back up battery, or another electrical fault such as water leakage into a tail-light or even the alarm unit itself when it rains. A lot of alarms are voltage sensing and when the vehicle is parked they will alarm if the battery voltage changes for any reason, though not during driving so the battery in the immob is my first choice to look at.

Immobiliser wont disengage

I would take off the alarm and see if the problem goes away. If it does you know the problem is with the alarm. I am in the alarm business and will not have one on any of my vehicles unless they come that way from the factory.
