SOURCE: fiat scudo starts and runs for 8 secs then cuts out

8 seconds and stall,..

Sounds like you're starting fine and there's no apparent problem with the engines electrical impulses in regards to wires, plugs, coil etc,..

Which it sounds like you're running off residual fuel but continuous fuel supply is being disrupted.

I'm all but certain if you pull a SP it'll have unburned fuel on it. Check your fuel pump, filter, pressure regulator and injectors

From those symptoms the pump could be faulty, filter clogged and only feeding seepage, the regulator could be flooding it out ot the injectors aren't opening { clogged }

What do you get when you try to press the accelerator when it's running or have you not tried that?

Thanks for the answer Vernon if the gauge is fluctuating can I still go long distances driving or will the engine overheat on the Fiat ducato

While I don't personally know the Fiat Ducato all that well. Typically when this happens with a car (any car), it is not a good idea to drive long distances with it. You should have the car repaired before it really over heats and suffer catastrophic failure

No power to fuses on Fiat 14 ducato van (1987) alternator charging, headlights, horn, hazard all ok, no power to indicators, wipers, heater fan, fuel gauge, temp gauge. all fuses are ok, engine starts

Sounds like the relay is bad, look in the fuse panel or under the dash for a lil black box, they are usually appx 1"' x 1" and there should be several of them. You may want to check owners manual or a repair manual to find the location. They should be listed in the schematic of the fuse box as well.

My petrol gauge gives the wrong reading going from full to empty on my fiat ducato van. how can i fix it.

Sounds like the sending unit is going out. The sending unit has a float that measures the fuel level. They can start sticking in different levels. It is more than likely located inside the fuel tank.

Seems like it's not getting enough gas

It could be your fuel pump with your car not running right, the gas gauge thing i have no clue maybe the sensor inside the tank is messed up. or it could just be your fuel filter not doing its job. Htere are a few things it could be I would say Fuel Filter, Pump and maybe a vacume (spelling) problem, I would need to be there and hear it running or drive it to really figure out what it is
