SOURCE: 1991 ford econoline heater problem

ther is a small fuse in the switch itself so i would try to replace this if you get movement when connected to battery directly. if not try to check connections directly behind it to make sure you have voltage with a tester or a wire and a bulb if needs be.

SOURCE: Windshield wiper and turn signals don't work.

I have seen this problem several times and it was the assembly under the steering wheel at the top of the steering column. There are many electrical connections in there for turn signals, wipers, horn, headlight dimmer, etc. The electrical contacts could be dirty and not conducting current or they could be misalligned or broken or just plain worn out.

If you're up to it, take steering wheel off and take a look. If there is an airbag, and you've never removed one of those, I wouldn't even start -- take it back to the shop and tell them what you suspect the problem to be.

first check all cables for corrosion on the battery. then go under the truck and check all cables that are on the starter. if they are clean then replace the starter because the solenoid is going bad.

Sounds like you are having a fuel problem with the fuel filter. If you have not had your car serviced in quite awhile i would do so. At least change the fuel filter and check the air filter as well. Hope thias will help you.

It sounds like you have a loose connection between your ignition key and battery.
The only thing you or an auto repairmen can do is find and tighten all electric connections.

Sudden loss of power

Are you sure the battery is being drained during this process? That would be a major draw from something, but then you said "...suddenly full power again,". It sounds more like a connection or a terminal working loose at times, not able to pass normal voltage. You sure need a voltmeter, my friend.

I think I would want to have that new alternator tested again, just to make sure it is not defective. A lot of aftermarket parts are turning up like that. Did you replace the alternator and battery because this condition was present? Do you know your battery cables and ground points are all good and secure, and corrosion free? You might want to double check all the grounds you can find- the battery negative cable, the engine to body strap, or cable, maybe an engine and computer harness ground point-look around the top of the engine for a ground wire coming out of the engine wire harness and going to ground at a nearby bolt. Also check all alternator connections.

If you have to keep looking, look at the power side of the power distribution scheme. From the battery, power goes to the Power Distribution Center, maybe called a junction box or junction is where the fuse and relay block under the hood receives power, both from the battery and the tie-in from the alternator, and then distributes it to the major circuits for the car. With all your symptoms, it sounds like the problem is not far from the battery in the power distribution. Sayeth Dr. monte. Good luck.

98 Ford Windstar suddenly won't start and no electric inside -- battery is fully charged.

start by following your negative wire off of the battery it should go to metal on the engine or to the frame (a fender bolt is ok) try putting your negative jumper cable from battery to any metal on engine. turn on headlights wiggle cable to make sure you have good connection, see if head lamps come on. If lights come on replace ground cable from battery. if not remove jumper cable and start looking at positive cable.check it for a good connection to battery and also to cable . if connections are good there follow the positive cable down to the starter should check your battery voltage at this connection. If its good and the connection is good but you still have no power replace starter solonid.. I suspect the positive cable going to the starter will be bad or the connection will be bad.

2007 toyota corolla no lights, wont start

What did you plug in? I had a similar issue when I plugged in a high amp tire pump. It kept blowing fuses because the pump itself had a short. Be wary of using stuff like that in the cig lighter. I switched to a hand held pump. How was the computer found to be defective? I wonder if the cig issue shorted the computer?

My headlights dont work, ive changed fuse and bulbs but they are still not working, what cam be wrong with them

Most headlight troubles like this end up being a fatigued connection at the switch(the 12V feed to the switch gets hot and gets hi resistance over time).Pull the switch, plug in the connector, turn the switch on,and try flexing the connector to the switch.

I can't give you a cure for your problem online as testing MUST be done. Computer scanning and individual Component tests are the only way to verify a failure. If a shop is doing the work, I certainly hope they aren't charging you for iteems replaced that did nothing towards making an adequate repair.
Off hand, I'd be looking for a bad connection such as inside the ignition switch or since you mentioned a timing sensor (there is no such thing) either you replaced the crank position sensor or the cam sensor. Whichever was replaced, check the other one.
Wiring failures most often happen at the connector pins or behind the connector plug where moisture gets in and corrodes the internal connection. All of that needs to be tested for continuity and resistance.

Check the battery connections on the positive post. I have a 96 Caddilac Deville and had simuliar issues. On alot if GM cars a dual booted connectors are installed on the positive/red side of the battery. Over time and battery replacements the connections wear out or become less effective causing voltage issuses in the ECM thus createing troubles through out. I removed both boots and and direct connected both leads. No more speedometer issues.

Half of electrics stopped working but yet the fuses are okay

Time to do a wiggle test of the fuse box wiring. The circuits mentioned are not directly connected , but may travel through common wiring plugs. Try the fuse box fuses again (there may be more than 1 fusebox) Interior light / Radio / Antenna / Clock may be on a battery circuit but not connected to the Fog light not the turn signals other than a connecctor plug or simular.

Won't start sometimes

Hmm, sounds like starter. Next time it will not start, don't hold the key for almost a minute. Try turning the key several times if no luck, grabb a hammer and LIGHTLY tap on starter. If it turns over normally then, starter is going out.
