Raise the front of the car with a floor jack as high as possible, fill the coolant recovery tank right to the top, run the engine until it is hot, DO NOT OVERHEAT IT, turn off the engine and let it cool, the air that is trapped in the cooling system will gravity purge out, the level in the coolant tank will go way down, if it empties completely repeat. Ding the above WILL GET THE SYSTEM FREE OF ANY TRAPPPED AIR.

1993 Mercury Tracer running hot

"rule out" questions - is coolant level OK? Any leaks, especially around the water pump? Has the system ever been flushed. out? If this is the original radiator, it could be clogged. Is the thermostat installed correctly with spring end toward the engine?

The bottom radiator hose stays cold on my 94 Toyota 4 cylinder truck. The temp gauge runs hotter when I turn on the heater. I've checked the water pump,it's ok. I've replaced the radiator cap, thermostat,...

you might have air in the system run with the rad cap off and see whats happening if the coolant drops after it warms up ,top up
it might over flow so keep a pan under it if this happens let it run a bit till it stops you need to get the air out of the system

Found oil in my coolent expansion tank

Generally speaking, if you have engine oil in the cooling system, you have a leak somewhere in the engine, which could be a head gasket.
Is there any sign of coolant in the engine oil ?

1993 cadillac seville sts 4.6 litre keeps heating up not the thermostat what else could it be?

It can be that the cooling fans are not coming on from air in the cooling system,or a bad coolant sensor or cooling fan relay,or a bad water pump,or radiator.

1998 caddy sts over heating and blowing cold air when heat is on

sounds like it might be low on coolant. Low coolant levels will stop the flow and circulation to the heater core, and also might be the cause of overheating
