Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

My family fix base anchor light keeps beeping as if the base isnt properly attached to the car. It seems firm enough. Could it just be a fault?

Chevy 2006 hhr light says t/c what does this mean?

Could be for the traction control.
You would need to have the body computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed.

My abs light keeps going on and off

Most likely it is a wheel sensor that is at fault you need to check each one to make sure there is no obvious damage and that they are bolted in firmly, then make sure all 4 sensors are plugged in properly.
If all seems ok then you will need to get the ABS System checked with a diagnostic scanner.

typical american i assume here ,sue everybody in sight ?? Well the fault is most likely caused by the connector block under the front seats ,make sure their is no rubbish under the front seats and then disconnect the connector and clean the contact pins with a soft B black lead pencil and then try that ,if that doesnt work then remove the seat and clean the pins in the connection on the pyrotechnic attachment at the bottom of the seat belt anchor .This is around 60% or so all the faults i get associated with airbag lights ,dirty connections under the seat or empty coke cans and water bottles pulling the plugs out

The main problem is that the car does not "start" or "turn". The dashboard lights do turn on in the process of trying to start the car. We replaced the battery, we changed the alternator, & the starter...

Assuming that you do not hear a click from the engine when you try to start then check the engine earth strap and its attachments. To do so properly means removing it. It's very common to find that there is rust beneath the body end of the strap, this allows enough current to pass to power the dash lighting but not enough to energise the starter motor solenoid.

Note that this is a "most likely" solution based upon the information supplied. Your fault may have other causes such as a faulty ignition switch or a severed ignition circuit wire (especially if there are any modifications to the wiring using those awful ScotchLok piggyback connectors).

The heat light keeps coming on

Check the overheat sensor switch (usually located in the cylinder head) is not faulty.
Check sensor connections are firm - ensure no possibility of short to ground.

How do you remove the spring clip on the rear view mirror?

Most rear view mirrors are secured on a pivot point to an arm and that arm is then secured on a pivot point to the base. The base is then attached to the windshield anchor either via a screw (metal housing) or it will have a lil tab (plastic housing) that you pull back and slide the entire assembly off of the windshield anchor
