SOURCE: 2002 lincoln continental when filling

This is usually caused by the vent tube on the fuel filler pipe being restricted in someway. If you look under the vehicle at the fuel filler pipe you will see a smaller pipe running down beside it.This is the vent.Make sure that it is not bent or stopped up.

Make sure you have brake lights. This is were the shifter solenoid gets it's signal from to get it out of gear.
One thing you can try is turn the igntion switch towards the run postion stopping just short of activating the electronics. Then try and move shifter to neutral then you can start it and out it into gear so you can drive it to get it fixed.

SOURCE: How do I change the spark plugs

You have to take the engine cover off, and then you should see the spark plugs on both sides of the engine. If you can't seem to find them, just follow the wires from the coil or distributor.

SOURCE: check engine light is on a 2002 lincoln

usually when your gas cap is lose, or not put back properly, your check engine light could come it. even if it seems like it was put back on tight, double check. the check engine light should go off if not after a few hours, a couple days at most. if it's still on, then have the trouble codes checked at autozone for free.

The most common cause of the problem you are having is with the switch itself.
The switch needs to be removed and cleaned. This helps in some cases, but if its not helping, then switch has to be replaced. The cost of switch is approx $25.You will have to get it from dealer or from local auto part stores. But first try cleaning the switch. Most probably that will help.In cleaning switch. You will have to remove the switch out, disconnect its wires, then clean both wires and switch contacts with cleaner and then reconnect. -------- For instructions and diagrams to disassemble and remove switch on your Lincoln continental , please click the link below:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/06/passenger-motorized-seat-switch.html ------------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
