My battery went flat in my golf tdi (51) and now the central locking doesnt work, only opens the drivers door. any ideas??

you either need to:

Buy a new battery
or
Take the battery to a recharge center and ask them to remove the old battery water let it dry and test it if it can still hold some voltage. Replace with diluted acid with water as the battery is on the charge.

Check also if your car can still charge the battery coz that could be also the problem

I have a volkswagen golf tdi, engine wont start batteryisnt flat and starter mototr has been checked were pretty sure its the immobiliser , key fob works we checked batteries but wont lock/unlock doors,...

look at the anti shudder valve (asv) look at pics on net. Its an air intake valve that shuts in order to stop the engine. It sometimes sticks shut. Syptoms are engines tries to fire but then turns over very freely but wont start. If it is this the whole air intake system needs de coking.

Golf gt tdi 2.0 140 bhp mk 5 - esp light

When there's something wrong with the brake pressure that handbrake warning light comes on.

The ESP warning light could be caused by a lot of things, but most likely it's a dirty fuel filter. Don't take my word for it though, just go to the VW dealer and have it read the faultcodes from the ECU, which should point you/them in the right direction.

Alternatively, when you have the right equipment (= VAGCOM + cable) and knowledge, you or a friend yould diagnose the ECU yourself.

From the sounds of it, you'll need a small service (air filter and oil filter change, etc.) anyways. Don't forget to reset the ECU (or dis- and reconnect the battery) afterwards to erase the faultcode from memory (when there's still something wrong, it'll return soon enough).

You might get lucky with a small service :)

thats the heater coil symbol for the diesel engines.
does it stay solid at beginning as normal?
if the car drives normal, then maybe its just a loose connection/wire somewhere
