Question about 2002 Ford F-150
If you have already had the tranny serviced... fluid changed & topped up ...
You are most likely looking at putting in a rebuild kit...
Check out the cost on AMAZON & ROCKAUTO...
before you take it to the transmission shop.
(It is an ugly, heavy dirty job (requiring skill &
more than a couple of SPECIALTY TOOLS)

The car has had regular services with Ford and on the whole has been
6 months ago the car has developed an intermittent fault, i.e.,
whilst driving, regardless of which gear I was in or what speed I was doing, the engine completely cut out.
If I was travelling fast enough or going down hill, the engine would kick in
again. On level roads or driving in traffic, this was a severe problem and
highly dangerous, as I had to use the key ingition to restart.
The Ford garages in our area are not very familiar with the Probe and
are unable to cure the problem despite the following:
Replacing exhaust sensors
Fuel pump replacement
Fuses and relays checked
Any suggestions or ideas you may have to remedy this problem will be most welcome
