2001 grand prix dash lights comes on then after about 3 mins half of it goes out any clue

The dash cluster seems to be burning out. Eventually it will stay out. You can find a used cluster but you will lose the original miles because the odometer is on the cluster.

I HAVE A 2003 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX I REMOVED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TO REPLACE A BURNT OUT BULB UPON RE INSTALLING IT NONE OF THE GAUGES WORK AND THE PRELIMINARY LIGHTS SUCH AS THE AIRBAG ABS CHECK ENGINE...

did you turn your key on with the instrument cluster removed? the instrument cluster is a computer that has to be in sink with all the other computers in the car if not the security system will shut down the car. one thing you can do is make sure the plug ins are all the way in the cluster. if they are good the you will have to have the cars computer system re flashed.

How do i replace the small bulb behind the speedometer/odometer?

You have to remove the instrument cluster cover and instrument cluster and disconnect the wiring harness(es) that connect the cluster to your vehicles computer, aka ecu or pcm. The bulbs are readily available at any auto parts store.
