Remove the auto start. One wire at a time. Fix cut wires. Do it right, your car will come back to life.

Testimonial: "Factory installed, oem auto start !"

  • Randy Ohler Dec 15, 2016

Factories don't install these, dealers do. And they install aftermarket. Usually top of the line. Usually will last about 7 years. The are hooked in to the BCM. When they start dieing, They mess with the BCM. Any time I get a runability problem or no start. I check codes, then look under the dash for remote start and alarm systems. Every time I tore one out, the vehicle was fixed.

if yes, then next is to look at the cluster for evics display errors.
better is to scan to pcm and see why,
if the magic is broken, scan it, or get it scanned.
on factory cars the remote start is very strict,
and it will tell you why it fails.
is that Another key , real, came with and worked before.
the keys must be married to the PCM./BCM for them to work.
scan it

find the guy who installed it and get them to make it work.

find a live human that can look and see that, see first if

My 2007 Impala 3.9l has bad issue. On cold start if you try to drive it has no power, spits and sputters and the rpm gauge quits working, warmed up for 10 minutes car runs fine

Going with power lose. Check the grounds. Main three are from the battery to engine, battery to body, and engine to body. I wold check for codes, even if the light is not on. There could be some pending.

1996 impala, dead battery replced with new,not driven for 1 week, went to start and battery is dead

It could be the alternator is not charging the battery. the people at Auto Zone can check for free if you can get it started and drive it there. some chevy alternators will work fine till they get hot, then they quit working.

Does the key start the vehicle. Does the parklights flash a set number of times. The bypass kit may have lost programming or updating. You can check the programming procedure I believe at

Will start and run fo a short distance and cut off. I had the battery checked and charged and it tested ok. could it be the alternater?

Could be..... the batery is just used for starting, once the engine is running it pulls electric power from the altinator, if the altinator which also charges the batery, is not working power is pulled from the battery, and when the battery goes dead, the car does too. When the Car turns off, do you then need to jump it to start it? if so you could be pretty convinced that the altinator is the issue

Usually the autodown feature needs to be reprogrammed. there are usually 2 ways of doing this. First, roll the window down and hold the switch down for a about 5 seconds and then roll the window up and hold for about 5 seconds. Repeat if it does work just to make sure. The other way is to hold the switch up for 5 seconds and try holding down the switch for 5 seconds.

Have the starter checked out. A faulty starter will mimic a bad battery or bad alternator in that it will start the car/truck fine when it's cold but when it gets hot, will act like there's no power. The lights horn, radio will work but won't start because the starter is hot and requires more power to function. Best of luck.

Wont start

check all wires running from the batt to the starter motor. if the wires are tight and fitting quite well, its the starter itself. remove it and test for voltage and motor function at your local auto parts shop.

Car quits while driving and sometimes doesn't start

Most likely you are correct and the wire connectors are not plugged in completely. Check that all the connectors are plugged all the way together anf lock in place together.
