mostly you need a new cluster so you need to find one with the same mileage or close to it look in the junk yard its cheaper and you can get lucky to find one with the same miles

Sounds like the plastic plunger is damaged or had dislodged from its hole. Try wiggling it as you push gently. If this works than it is damaged or warn to the point that it misaligned with the hole.

there is a steel braided cable located at the back of your speedo panel that connects it to the tranny, this cable rotates from the point it connects to the tranny and transmits it to your panel. this cable may have snapped. pull out the panel, take out the cable and replace.
