My door ajar sensor keeps on going off, whether I am in the car or not. Which fuse controls it? So I can shut it off until I can get it fixed.

The mechanism that senses wheather the door is open or closed needs to be lubricated. That happened to mine and I took it to Ford and the guy brought out a can of spray lubricant and sprayed all the mechanisms. Solved the problem. He didn't charge me anything. I hope this helps.

My 2002 Mercury Mountaineer, which I don't drive very often, does well- as long as I drive it at least every 3-4 days. If I don't the battery is dead. It has a new battery in it (battery is fine). Any...

Something is drawing power while the car is not running, and it could anything from interior lights remaining on to a defective main computer in the car. If you want to try a hit and miss analysis you can remove all fuses from the fuse box, then re-install one every couple of days. If the vehicle starts ok, install another fuse, and so on until you find the circuit that's drawing power. This could obviously be a time-consuming task, or you could be lucky with the first fuse. HINT: start with fuses such as interior lights, stereo, etc. The other solution is a bit costly, but it will yield a quick fix -- take it to the dealer or a reputable garage in your are for an electrical check.

To find out if the key is bad go to local lock smith and ask for a code key from the vin number they will tell you you need a chip that is correct but the key will open the door and turn on the ignition. if the new key works then your key is bad and the dealer can make you one for about 100.00 dollars if it still dont turn then the key cylinder is bad and it will need to be replaced good luck
