Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Hi, my Belling double electric oven has just gone pop and everything has gone off, even the clock. I've checked the main fuse board and nothing has been tripped. Any ideas what has occurred?

Terry.

Instrument panel fuse keeps blowing, burning metal smell?

Some electrical short stay there, I suggest to check each electrical circuit that is connected to this fuse; check description or legend in the fuse label. With other details, we could send some electrical diagrams.

check the fuses again, sometimes they blow right after you install them.
there may be a short in the wiring causing them to pop.
check fuses again and let me know

Turned ignition on, heard a loud pop and everything went off. tried ignition again, got nothing, no battery turn over, nothing.

Start by checking the fuses and then the battery connections, this sounds like a fuse poped maybe a main fuse, if its a fuse then replace the fuse if it pops again then theres a dead short somewhere, these are famous for bad starters and starter relays going bad, so see when fuse pops again if its when key is turned on or when you try to crank the motor, if its when cranking then its mostlikely the relay or starter, this main fuses would be in the engine compartment fuses box.

2003 suzuki aerio clock light no longer works how to fix

Funny you should mention that, I’ve been working on the same problem with my 04 Aerio for 2 days. If you've checked the bulb and that didn’t fix it then it's probably 1 of the 5 little resistors on the circuit board. They’re really small and aren’t soldered very well. Pull the clock and pop the white ABS cover off the back, once you remove the clock from the dash you won’t even need any tools to pop the rear cover. Now plug the clock back in (make sure you get the plug back in the right way or you’ll short everything out) then turn your key on and GENTLY push on each resistor with your finger while watching to see if the light flashes on. If it does then that’s the resistor with the bad connection. I say GENTLY because I wasn’t and the lose resistor popped off on mine and no matter how many times I try soldering it back on I cant get a good enough connection to make the light work.
If you do find the lose resister, use a small tipped medium heat soldering iron and fine electrical solder to carefully solder the ends of the resistor with a little solder as possible. What ever you do don’t knock the little thing off or you probably never find it again, and you probably never get it to make a connection again. I’d start with resistor 430, it’s the nearest of the 2 on the side of the plug-in pins on the circuit board. Hope you have better luck then I did…..

Electrical problems

Check the chassis ground connections. If you have electric fans and no power, this could be keeping the fans from running when they ate needed. If everything electrical is acting up, I would check for a common problem like a main ground loose, corroded, or not properly installed. You need good metal on metal contact.

Honda Accord 1995 Stereo and Clock

it sounds like you have shorted out the stereo. i had a jensen stereo that the display went out on an i checked all the same things that you did an it still wouldnt work. you may could take it apart an look at the circuit board an see if there is a burnt spot or a wire popped free from the board. for future advice always disconnect your battery. i hope this may help

Car just died, electrical system gone

there is no such thing as a main battery fuse.
seems like a wire has come undone under the dash and shorted your car out.
