The starter SOLENOID is probably mounted on the starter. Just replace the starter and you should get a solenoid with it. don-ohio (:^)

Car is making a humming sound when battery is attached and keys in ignition

it sounds like your battery charge maybe low. turn on your headlights and verify that lights are bright while starting car. if lights are weak, you need to check the battery voltage. a cheap multimeter will tell you what the voltage is. If battery is good, check your starter relay. Also try jump starting your car with another car. if it starts then you know its not a bad starter relay or your starter motor. if the car starts keep your multimeter on the battery and make sure your reading about 14 volts. that will tell you that the alternator is working right. shut your car off and monitor the battery to see if the voltage starts to drop. it should read about 12 volts. if it drops to below that immediately your battery is not holding a charge, or something is draining the battery. if it is not holding a charge; try jumping the battery again while the positive cable is not connected to the battery. then check the battery to be sure it is holding a charge. If the battery holds a charge, you need to find out what is draining the battery while connected to the car. When you reconnect your battery, your alarm may go off, so have your remote handy. on most cars you can turn alarm off simply by unlocking and locking the doors with the remote. You can usually find what is draining your battery, by removing fuses while monitoring the battery. the battery will stop draining when the suspected fused circuit is pulled. You also want to make sure that your trunk light, or interior light, is not ON and draining your battery. Many people with remotes will on occasion find their trunk open, which will drain the battery overnight. Hope this helps. Good luck.

2008 Polaris Ranger Crew 700. New battery and solenoid switch. Engine won't turn over. It starts easily by bridging the posts on the solenoid switch. What could the problem be?

What you have done is bypass the ignition switch, if it starts whilst crossing the solenoid.
I should try an electric meter to see if the ignition switch is sending the "juice" to the starter.
It sounds like it is not.
However, the current may also be going through a computer, a relay, or some other part , so those need to be tested.
I have no wiring diagram to look at for your unit, but here is a start.
God bless your efforts.

I have a question about my 2003 gmc seirra 6.0l. When I turn the key to crank the engine it struggles for a second then starts. It has the same sound as if the battery is almost dead, but I just replaced...

Might be a fuel delivery issue. You can rent a fuel pressure test kit from most parts stores. see if the pump pressures are correct or if the regulator is bad.

All the lights work horn radio windows work but it wont try to start like the batters dead but its not i tryed to jump it but nothing happond

Remove the starter relay, check for power at terminal, continuity to starter solenoid, and one more thing-jump relay terminals until you get the clicking noise of the starter solenoid trying to engage. If you hear the click at the starter but still won't turn over, tap the starter solenoid two or three times lightly. Check for power at starter lug. Loose terminals at the battery or corrosion is also of importance.

Hyundai accent 2001 will not start all lights work radio works heater fan works battery in 3 months old when I turn the key all i hear is a humming sound for about 1 min. than nothing. weather has be

The humming would be the fuel pump coming on. It should only hum for a few seconds, then shut off.
Your problem is with the start circuit from the battery to the starter, or from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. Check the connections at the starter (the big cable) for tightness.
Is the battery charged up enough to turn the engine over? Check by turning headlights on and observe while someone turns key to crank. If they dim a LOT, then either battery is too low, or the starter is bad and needs removing for testing. If brightness doesn't change, then the circuit from ignition switch to starter solenoid is likely not working. Check for 12 volts at the small wire to starter solenoid with key in cranking position. If you have power there, the solenoid may be bad. Remove starter for testing. If no power at solenoid in starting position, then either the ignition switch is bad or the neutral safety switch might be the problem, or the wiring from the switch to the starter solenoid is not passing current.
Good luck.

the most common problem would be the starter relay,
the contacts burn out so just replace the relay.
