Temperature gauge on my Peugeot 207 keeps going from normal to 0 and staying there no leaks visible no coolant lose

Normal to COLD?
You would only lose coolant if the engine was overheating - or, as you say - a leak.

It's probably a faulty temperature sending unit - these are common failures. You actually have nothing to worry about. The unit sends a signal from the engine to your temperature gauge in the car. Even if the unit is faulty the engine is still operating at the correct temperature - it's the signal to the temperature gauge that is wrong.

Your temperature sensor will look something like in the image below:
26054640-ncuktxo4qw3omcx4ef1trshf-4-0.jpegIt's inexpensive and quick to rectify. A new sender unit can be fitted within minutes. Give a mobile mechanic a call ..

I read your question about the car heater.. No, the sensor wouldn't cause the heater to blow cold air. That fault is either air in the cooling system/heater system, or a blocked heater matrix.

Remove your radiator cap/coolant bottle cap. Open the heater controls to HOT and set on maximum. Start the engine and let it tick over - see if it forces any air out of the system when the heater should begin blowing hot.

If the heater still blows cold it may have a blocked matrix. Try a bottle of radiator/coolant system flush to see if that dislodges the blockage. The instructions will be on the bottle of coolant flush

I have an 863 bobcat, I shut it off for just a few min, then when I tried to start it back up it turns over but won't start, I tried starter fluid which will start it but it will only run for a few seconds

I presuming it is a diesel bobcat, if so then your fuel solenoid has failed, you will need to replace the solenoid, it a large nut with a wire coming from it and it's located on the fuel injection pump,

2003 volkswagen golf engine temperature gauge and engine light on

If the temp gauge reading is high when the engine is cold it will be a short to the sender unit or a faulty sender unit ( as opposed to a temperature sensor unit). Have the fault codes read to find out what put the engine light on ( overheat)

My truck temperature meter keeps going up n the red but dont overheat. whats is going on

thermostat could be sticking.I would replace the thermostat and flush the coolant system out with a good coolant flush. Then put some new coolant in ,this should help.

1990 regal starts, runs for 2 to 3 min then dies, changed fuel filter, crank sensor, coil packs, it has 45 pounds of prs. to rail. im stumped

hi, please check you oil level, ( on level ground). when the car is running place an old rag in front of you and take off the oil filler cap (be careful not to get near the fan, fan belt) if no oil comes out of the filler hole possible fault: oil pick-up pipe (in sump partial block), / oil filter in sump ( blocked), oil pump worn, oil relief valve (returning oil back into the sump), spring weak / broken. the (E C U) ENGINE CONTROL UNIT has many sensors that can stop the engine: but try cleaning the (EGR) ENGINE GAS RECIRCLING VALVE, this valve recycles gas back in to the engine, ( must be CLEANED with BRAKE FLUID) this is a VERY DIRTY job, as this gets block with carbon (EXHAUST PARTICULES). the E C U will detect all of these sensors: the (ECT), TOP OF ENGINE engine coolant temperature sensor rough tick over, (HO2), EXHAUST DOWN PIPE, heated oxygen sensor checks mixture of fuel, can adjust air / fuel, it tries to keep car going / may flood engine. (M A F) mass air flow, adjusts fuel / air retio this sensor can so much fuel to the engine it may flood it. flooded engine mean WET spark plugs. i would put it on dianostic machine to check these out before paying for extra sensors. gerry

Dodge ram trouble codes p0298 and p0296

P0296 Cylinder 12 Contribution/Range Fault
Is triggered when the Power Train Control Module (PCM) detects that the acceleration rate of the crankshaft for Cylinder #12 was less than a calibrated amount. During normal conditions the PCM turns the Fuel Injectors ON and OFF in the Fuel Injection System.
Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Engine Misfire
- Engine Run Rough
- Low MPG

Possible Causes:
- Fuel Injector #12
- Faulty or Corroded Fuel Injector #12 Connector
- Plugged #12 Fuel Injector
- Dirty #12 Fuel Injector

Possible Solution:
- Clean Fuel Injector #12 Connector
- Clean Fuel Injector #12
- Replaced Fuel Injector

P0298 - Engine Oil Over Temperature Condition
Indicates the Engine Oil Temperature Protection (EOT) strategy in the Power Train Control Module (PCM) has been activated. This temporarily prohibits high engine speed operation by disabling injectors, reducing the risk of engine damage from high engine oil temperature. Note: On engines which are equipped with an oil temperature sensor, the PCM reads oil temperature to determine if it is excessive. When an oil temperature sensor is not present, the PCM uses an oil algorithm to infer actual temperature. Engine shutdown strategy function is the same on vehicles with and without oil temperature sensors.

Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Lack/Loss of Power
- Engine Surge

P0298 is set when the vehicle has been running below 1,000 rpm and less than 20 mg/stroke MFDES with EOT sensor signal reading above 110C (230F). The time to set the fault is dependent on EOT and Intake Air Temperature (IAT) temperatures, and can vary between approx. 15 to 45 minutes

Possible Causes:
- Very high engine RPM for an extended period of time.
- Overheating condition.
- Malfunction EOT sensor or circuit (vehicles w/EOT sensor).

Possible Solution:
1. Inspect EOT sensor circuitry at sensor and PCM. Inspect for damage, loose or pushed-out pins, loose or poorly crimped wires
2. If connectors are ok check cooling system, radiator, fan/clutch operation, thermostat
3. If cooling system is ok carry out KOEO On-Demand Self Test
4. If other fault codes are present after test repair them, if only P0298 is present clear codes
5. Let vehicles sit for 8 hours and then KOEO
6. Monitor EOT in live data
7. If EOT sensor reading is above 110*C(230*F) replace sensor
8. IF EOT is below 110*C check continuous memory DTCs
9. If P0298 is present replace PCM

Hope helps (remember rated and comment this).
