Question about Cars & Trucks
If the gauge doesn't move when you fill up the tank then you need to replace the fuel gauge. If it is not that you could have a fuel pump problem or trash in the fuel and it is clogging up the injectors/carburetor depending on the year of the car.

Testimonial: "thank you very much. but to be more specific. the car does run out of fuel and when a gallon containerful is put in it will start easily the fuel is getting through and all being used but it will still show about a fifth of a tank. the guage works fine and shows after it has been refuelled."
