Do I have to use additional sealer on a metal head gasket for a 1995 Toyota tercel 1.5 dohc?

Did you have the head shaved? If not it is warped and will not seal. To answer you no, it is rare that any sealer is used on any gaskets on most engine parts. There are a few places where oil pans meet seals or valve covers with over head cams that do, but most modern engines do not need sealant on quality gaskets unless there is surface damage.
You did not mention if you torqued correctly and use new head bolts. This is considered very important.

I replaced the head on my tercel but have never adjusted lifters and cant seem to find it in the book if you could let me know how

If it's not in the haynes manual you will need a factory workshop manual OR google tercel froums, the members there may have a procedure for the initial valve clearance lash, of course being hydralic lifters you would only have to do this once. HOWEVER if s professional shop rebuilt the head then the clearances should already be set by them.

To change the oil pan gasket in a 93 Tercel

Stock the car doesn't come with an oil pan gasket but you can order one from rockauto.com you don't have to remove the A/C compressor for any of the jobs you listed. If you want to change the timing belt you need to remove the plastic rock guard under the motor on the passenger side. remove the spark plugs and using the socket turn the engine from the crankshaft clockwise until you are at TDC on #1 cyclinder. (compression stroke) Next remove the upper and lower plastic timing belt covers. The idler pulley is the one with the spring. Loosen the nut and remove the spring then you can remove the timing belt. It really isn't that hard to do. Maybe one afternoon.
