fuel pump
,It could be a weak, faulty fuel pump, try this next time no start happens, try key on and off 5 times, without starting and wait 10 seconds between cycles. This sometimes brings the fuel pump prime up to pressure and engine will start.
press the helpful button
Maybe a problem in the fuel pump circuit. Check fuel pressure with engine off, and key turned to on, not start. If no pressure, diagnose the pump circuit at the fuel pump relay. One terminal for the relay would be the power feed for the pump. The engine computer signals the relay on for 2 seconds with key on to prime the system, also signals during engine cranking.
You should check all your fuses first. In the car, and in the engine compartment. The fuel pump should be checked as well, if u don't hear it the pump when u turn the key on, the pump might be burnt out of it. drop the tank to check the fuel pump. Also when the fuel pump goes on a car it doesn't send a code to the computer. When you turn the key on, the pump primes, and runs the whole time you run your car. Hope you get it running, I recently replaced a pump in a 2000 Cav Z24 and it wasnt the pump it was the pre-screen in the tank was plugged. Good Luck. D
Did you paint the spark-plugs? Not Good! Run wire from negative to engine or from engine to the body. You may have placed the timing onto the Exhaust stroke rather than the compression stroke if you moved the engine or you didn't have the timing set properly during assembly - perhaps to the wrong notch on the cam-shaft. Always spin engine by hand several times with spark-plugs removed to ensure that nothing binds. If you removed the oil pump = you may have to prime it as there may be a low oil-pressure cut-off! Crank-shaft sensor is one other possibility? Bad Cam-sensor will only make it harder on fuel. Best I can do for now. Good luck.
i would change the fuel filter first then you can proceed to the trunk lift up the carpet the pump is under the round cap.. you can pull it up and change it for around 20 bucks you can find airtex pumps at autoparts warehouse shipped to your door.
