I have a 2002 lexus and when I turn on the heat it makes a loud noise Once I turn the heat off the noise stops What should I do Thank you

Does it sound like the blower motor, or a blend door actuator ? The motor would make a roaring sound, the blend door more like gears meshing.

Why does the defrost in my 2007 Monte Carlo blow cold air and make a clicking noise in the passenger dash?

Sounds like a classic example of a faulty blend door motor or stuck door.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and vents.

I need to know how to get to the blend door in the heater area of my '92 chevy c1500. I was told that is what makes a thumping noise when the key is on or off.

this is some what normal, as long as it just once that you hear the noise (ie. you turn the truck on and thump, turn the truck of and thump) the doors operate off of vacuum lines in the engine. When you shut the engine off the vacuum goes away and *thump* the blend door snaps back to its normal resting position. then when you turn the truck on the vacuum then comes back and *thump* the door snaps back to its adjusted place.

If you feel that this is not what is going on, this diagnostic technique can help eliminate this condition
set the blend door to the hot side and start the truck and it should thump when the engine is on or off.
if you didn't get a thumping noise that is good it just means that the blend door is set to the hot side normally open.

My heat went in my 2004 ford explorer...its blowing colding and there is a knocking noise

The knocking noise is the key. Assuming the coolant level is correct, and the thermostat is working correctly, it sounds like you have a blend door actuator concern. If the knocking noise is coming from the center dash area, the blend door needs to be replaced. The radio and center trim will need to be removed, the blend door removed and the blend door needs to be manually moved to verify heat. Good luck.

Ticking noise from heat duct

this is a classic sign of a blend door motor or the blend door itself having a problem. the changing of the amount of heat or cold air you get out of your vents use to be obtained by turning the knob on the dash which in turn moved the heat door via a cable now all these cars and trucks have gone to using a electric motor which moves the heat door(the blend door due to the fact it blends hot and cold air to obtain the temperature requested by the driver) when these go bad its often caused by the door itself (being its made out of a plastic ) getting deformed and then binding up inside the heater box(this is the housing in which the heater core and the blend door is housed) when it binds up the blend door motor which is a very small motor with plastic gears ,cannot get the door to the position requested by the driver and continues to try and starts skipping the gears in the motor causing the ticking noise your hearing. the parts are not as expensive as the labor ,to repair requires complete removal of the dash on most vehicles to access the blend door.to test you can usually turn the temp knob back to a point were the motor is not binding and most often the noise will stop until you again attempt to move the knob to get more heat or cool air which again it cannot move the door to the place requested so the ticking noise re occurs

P0411 is what is says is my problem with my 1997 Ford Taurus When my heater is on it makes a clicking noise. What could is the most likely problem and how can i fix it?

i belive that the dtc that you have is not related to the clicking noise at all. apparently p0411 is concerning the secondary air injection. the clicking noise however would be a stuck or broken blend door or blend door motor. usualy the hvac system utilizes 3/4 of these blend door motors. to further diagnose this start your heater with the heat on full and fans at the normal face vents and move the vent selector from that inital position to the last position and if the clicking quits at any point then it would be that blend door motor. if that doesnt work then try to slowly move the heat selector from full heat to full cold, same deal. and if still at that point its making noise see if it goes away by selecting recirculate to fresh air....

When engine is started, heater door makes clicking noise for 20 seconds and quits. When engine is shut off, heater door makes clicking noise for 20 seconds and quits. Door makes clicking noise when heat is...

Your air temp control blend door actuator is failing, that is the part u call a heater door, it is a gear driven miniature drive, the gears are jumping teeth making the noise, it will stop working very soon.

Heater works great but a/c wont blow.

If I understand your problem, your heat works, but no A/C. It sounds like the blend door motor is not moving the door to the cool position. This could be caused by a bad blend door motor, or a bad interior temperature sensor. Because you said you heard a banging noise, it sounds like the blend door is stuck. The interior temp sensor would make no noise.

it is called a blend door acuator problem. it is what moves the door from hot to cold or vice versa. it is usually way up under the dash and is very hard to get to.usually requires dash disassemly. do yourself a favor and take it to a mechanic. it will save you $$$ in the long run.
