All that work! Seems to me your problem may simply be the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).
Have someone (an electrician) bench test it FIRST!... If the TPS (its a potentiometer) has bad spots in it, it CAN and WILL cause hesitation.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you replace the MAF (mass air flow) sensor and the TPS (throttle position sensor). If the MAF and TPS is faulty the RPM tends to go down or goes erratic. The MAF and TPS is located at the throttle body which is secured by small screws or bolts. It is visible which can easily be seen.

Once replaced you'll be good. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Jeep Cherokee Sport 2.5 D

By power washing it you probably have water in the electrics and the electronics!! Take the Jeep to a good auto electrician and he might be able to tell you where the problem is. At least then you'll know where to start looking.
THIS is what happens when you pressure wash modern engines!!
