Heater blowin cold air


Sounds like your heater blend doors aren't adjusting from cold to heat. If you google "blend doors" you can read about them. They are usually pretty hard to get to, the dash needs to come out. Hope this helps! Jonathan Lavezzo www.lavezzoconstruction.com

Seems to be a very common complaint on here with late 90s suburbans, mostly seems the heater core is shot and needs replacing.

reverse the heater hoses and drive it for a cpouple of days your heater core is plugged and by reverseing them you can back flush the heater core after 2-3 days reverse them again

Super Duty Block Heater doesn't work.


If you have an ohmmeter, check the resistance at the plug going to the heater. If it doesn't read anything then the heater is bad.

check the heater temp. control pot under the hood, inline on one of your heater hoses, it may be sticking causing hot water to only get to your heater core when the engine is at high r.p.m.s
