SOURCE: how to change fuel pump 1990 cadillac seville

The fuel pump and sending unit is located in the tank. I hope your tank is empty, if not you will need to siphon it out. It is dangerous with the gasoline, and remember the fumes burn, not gas. You start by removing the filler hose, then loosen straps, detach sending unit wire and fuel line, then lower tank. Then unscrew the sending unit/pump and replace. reinstall.

On my car, which is the same as yours, it is located on the manifold top back left. Pictures in the book just show it on top.

I need a coolent temp sensor for 1979 Cad. Seville.,do anyone knows where to fine one

unlikely to be the coolant temperature sensor
more likely to be a failing electronic component like an ECM if EFI engine or an ignition control module failing for a component overheating internally
why I say this is because coolant temperatures take a long time to cool down but an electronic component that has no current flowing will cool quicker

What does code P 119 mean on my Cadillac 1994 Seville STS

P0119 Cadillac Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Intermittent
Possible causes - Low engine coolant level
- Faulty Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
- Faulty engine coolant thermostat
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical circuit poor connection What about the obd code? The Engine Control Module (ECM) detected an erratic signal from the engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor during the system monitor test Symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) P0119 Cadillac Description The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is used to detect the engine coolant temperature. The sensor modifies a voltage signal from the Engine Control Module (ECM). The modified signal returns to the ECM as the engine coolant temperature input. The sensor uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. The electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases as temperature increases.

I have a 1991 Cadillac SeVille 4.9 V8. It drives fine most of the time until it warms up in the afternoon. Then it starts to sputter and not want to drive. I have replaced the fuel filter, thermostat

Hi Crystal , There are a number of components on you vehicle that can cause this , ignition modules have been known to cause this problem, crankshaft position sensor , MAP sensor , coolant temperature sensor ! Is the check engine light on ? It wouldn't be the fuel because if is plugged hot or cold it's not going to change An a thermostat could cause the vehicle to over heat or not get to normal operating temp. your temp. gauge would show hot or cold ! You should take it to a repair shop , don't guess an just start replacing parts ! that can get expensive .. Making Sense of Engine Sensors
