Go to auto zone they scan for free then we will see what next. Could be a bad thermostat or radiator.

SOURCE: i have a 1990bmw 325i. i turned the car off one

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

SOURCE: 98 dodge caravan overheating...heater

About the only things are the thermostat and the water pump. There could be something with the radiator but that is the rarest because the water shoots straight through. If it overheats fairly rapid,it's most likely the thermostat.Sometimes a water pump will let you go 20-30 miles before overheat. The thermostat is cheaper and easier if you're going to try it systematically.Overheat will probably cause the check engine light too.Good luck! SOURCE: Dodge 318 overheating.

HI. It could possibly be the the thermostat is stuck shut. If thats the case when the vehicle warms up it will probably overheat all the time. The best way to tell is buy a new one and change it. They are usualy around $10.00 at any autoparts store. If you change it and it still overheats, it could be the waterpump.

SOURCE: 99 Firebird still overheating after repairs and antifreeze

overheating is most likely a bad thermostat, but the coolant loss is a second big concern. Does the exhaust look like steam? You could have a cracked block and the coolant is leaking into the engine. Also check the oil for contamination.

Sounds like a bad water pump or radiator. Make sure the radiator fins arent clogged or inside of radiator, water pump not circulating the coolant properly will also cause overheating, old coolant will not properly dissipate heat efficiently and may need flushed. Also make sure the coolant has a 50% mix of water as the water does most of the cooling not the antifreeze. Hope this gives you some good places to start.

It's possible that if the tank was near empty for a while you could have stirred up some contaminants in the gas tank when you filled it up and now the sock on your fuel pump is clogged.

Overheats and stalls at lights

you should first FIX the leak. if not enough coolant, the sensor won't activate the radiator fan, thus overheating occurs.

Most likely a cracked block or free plug that came out or loose. Other options are hozes, which I believe the dealer would have fixed. A third option is the water pump itself.
