sounds like this is a very common problem and GM needs to address it, no wonder they are in the situation they are in. I just sold a nissan titan to get this hunk of ****. Boy that was a mistake.

This is a very common problem on all the gm trucks like yours. There is actually a technical service bulletin but no recall of course. Sometimes, shutting the vehicle off and restarting helps sometimes it doesn't. This is one thing you can perform, but this problem is due to this

Upon inspection, technicians may find DTCs B0414, B0424, B3770, B0418, B0408, B0263, B0268, and/or B0229 are set.Check the Right I/P junction block connectors C4, C5, and C8 (Document ID # XXXXXXX) for poor terminal tension, backed out terminals or connectors not fully seated.

You can try this as a quick fix but, You just have to check the right I/P junction block connectors.
1. Place the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for a minimum of 10 seconds.
3. Install the HVAC/ECAS fuse.
4. Start the vehicle.
5. Wait 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.

If you are going to attempt to repair this yourself I would recommend you try and pick up the factory service manual. As it makes repairs like this go very smooth as it tells you every step on every part in the vehicle. Like here

Just one repair of this nature with the service manual and your still saving yourself money over labor of someone else. If you have any questions or need further assistance please let me know.
Thank you,
Lee

Why does 1 side of dash blow hot and the other cold when ac is on with the dual climate control?

Check the actuator motor on the heater it directs the air into the vents. There is probably two of them be sure to check both. The motor makes the vents move and again directs the air where you want. Hope this helps.

Take battery cable off for 5 mins, then put battery cable back on. Insert your key into the ignition turn to on but don't start the vehicle wait 5 seconds turn back off repeat the key on/off three times. This initiates a re calibration of climate control equipment and actuators. It will fix your problem.

If you dual climate control sounds like it the mode door actuator that controls driver and passenger temp. If it went bad again then there is something wrong with the mode door itself causing the actuator to short out

Just had this happen today to my 2007 silverado heat on the right side cold air on the left side. After engine was off 15 minutes and restarted heat was on both sides. I'm guessing a relay failed to open door to allow the heat to flow thus blowing cold air.will monitor diligently for a while.

2004 Chevy Silverado AC is blowing warm air on passenger side.

You have dual zones that are controlled by temperature actuators the passenger side has lost its memory or has gone bad you can put it in self programming by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes then hook it back up start the truck turn the temperature control on but do not touch any other controls let it go thru the self programming for about 6 to 7 minutes then select your temperature you want if it still does not work properly you may have a bad actuator or a bad connection at the actuator
