Question about 2000 Lincoln LS
Lincoln LSes have a problem getting air in their systems due to tiny cracks that develop in their plastics.
They must be bled ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL.
I get around the expensive replacement of plastic parts by never running pressure on my system. I take great care to stay at 60% antifreeze ratio and up to 65%.
I don't live in the desert or high up in the Rockies,so I can do this.I have never had a leak on either LS.
When you bleed it correctly, after using 60/40 ratio antifreeze to water, you can then loosen the De-gas bottle pressure cap. This keeps the system from sucking air in thru any microscopic cracks in the plastic parts when the engine cools.
It also keeps you from blowing hoses, and other parts with 16 PSI of force pushing outward on your parts.
Never go below 60% antifreeze or over 70%. It takes care to do this correctly, but it pays off. don-ohio (:^)
