Head torque for a 2007 Kia Spectra


All Kia Spectras use the 2.0L 4 cylinder engine, and that engine has two different size cylinder head bolts that each require their own torque spec. Use the following torque sequence (see picture) and tighten them down in three steps. You will need a torque angle gauge or some way of knowing how far you've tightened the bolt for steps 2 & 3.

Apply a light coat of engine oil on the threads and under the heads of the bolts before torqueing.

M10 bolts: First step = 16.6*19.5 lb-ft, second step = Turn another 60-65 degrees, 3rd step = Turn another 60-65 degrees

M12 bolts: First step = 20.3-23.1 lb-ft, second step = Turn another 60-65 degrees, 3rd step = Turn another 60-65 degrees

Need the torque main bearing


Those bolts are "torque to yield." That means there is no real torque specification. I think the sequence is 15 lb/ft first pass. second pass 60 - 65 degrees of rotation. Third pass 60 - 65 degrees of rotation.

Specs: 2.0L (VIN F) and 1996-98 1.8L (VIN M) engines- Tighten M10 bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm), plus 60-65 degrees, plus 60-65 degrees. Tighten M12 bolts to 26 ft. lbs. (35 Nm), plus 60-65 degrees, plus 60-65 degrees.

Ac controls for eletronic control


could be a problem with the blend door. common on explorers. open glove box all the way down (bend in tabs to where it will open further than normal) . take flashlight and look behind it to top of black box inside dash. should be able to see tab for door moving while changing the temp. on the control unit. if it is broken should be able to hear cracking or popping from inside heater case.

Just need Torque Settings for head bolts in Laymans terms.


You wont be able to get specific torque settings. If it states in the manual "60 to 65 degrees" then you follow these instructions. This ensures that the bolts are correctly stretched. The bolts are designed to operate at a certain amount of stretch,the 60-65 degrees of rotation ensures uniform stretch.

it's a wire from under the dash it usually burns out after awhile,i had the same problem email me at veron@sprint.blackberry.net for more info on the wire i forgot the name for it.
