The trouble may not be due to a defective switch but it is not uncommon for a replacement electrical part to be defective.

A/c blower motor works if I pull power and plug back in until I cut engine off. Then I have to repeat process

Daryl, You may want to check the blower relay/ just switch with one of same type and try and if OK, problem could be the blower motor, wires/plug loose, damaged, burnt or a faulty blower motor resistor. Second link has some trouble shooting of a overheating wire problem, that is to be common in these trucks. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Blower on inside of car not working

Check the following (in order):
  • A/C system fuse / blower fuse (highest likelihood). Sometimes, you will find that the housing for the blower fuse has melted, indicating that the wires there have burned and require replacement.
  • A/C blower relay
  • A/C selector switch and fan switch
  • Blower motor

there could be partial contact in the blower controls which has resulted in total loss of contact, in blower speed affected. replacement of the entire blower control switch should resolve it

I have a short somewhere on the ignition switch which leads to my blower fan. What should I do?

If the blower motor is just working sometimes,or is shutting off,at times, then coming back on,try this, when the blower is not working, bump the blower motor to see if it comes back on,if it does, replace the blower motor,if not,try looking on the back of the blower select switch to see if there is a burned connection, also replace the blower switch if there is a burned connector, along with the connector replacement. If you find that the connector is burned, the blower is the problem,it is drawing too many amps, even if it works good, and sounds fine, the blower caused the problem, also check the blower relay.

mine was doing the same, then just quit all together. I went and got a resistor and everything is working again. Pretty easy to replace as well.

For location and replacement of the BMR. Remove the shroud below the glove box, 2 screws and a snap-pop fitting. Be careful of the courtesy light. Remove the blower moter and disconnect the power harness - - you'll need this extra room to work with. 2 more screws, same size, 7/32, 6.5, 7or 8mm on some, that holds the blower motor resistor in place. This replacement part is less than 40 bones at most parts store. Unplug, replace, re-install, test and you're on your way with about 2 hours of slow paced effort in your own driveway. Typical cost at a garage/dealer - up to $400.
