Would Dura-Seal eliminate the problem of a blown head gasket 0n a 1997 Cadillac Eldorado?

No it would not. The same as chemi-weld. Good to get you home but full of problems later. To fix a blown head gasket pull the head ,have it machined flat and refit using a genuine gasket. (after market do not have all the holes in the right places )

Has onyone used duraseal to fix headgaskets on northstar motor

ok no that dont work the only thing that really work is k&w head block seal now you really have to fallow intructions on this if it dont work then you would have to replace your head gaskets ok make shore you flash all antyfreze out of sistem turn on your heather when flashing only then when you add the k&w turn it of and make shore you let it run for full 30 minutes then turn of and drain it all out disconect uper hose and let it set for full 24 hours ok then put back togheter refill fluid and make shore you blead all air out of sistem there is a couple of blead valve on it open them till you see no air coming out of them ok hope this helps any question ask me ok

Does that dura-seal head gasket repair stuff REALLY work?

I had a blow head gasket on my BMW 6 cyl. and it was blowing white smoke and losing alot of coolant. After doing alot of research I found that all the other brands like blue devil, steel seal, KW and bars all use water-glass. The only company that does NOT USE WATER-GLASS is Dura-Seal. If you have aluminum heads it's very important to use a sealer that can flex with your engine's aluminum heads. The DuraSeal actually stays flexible! So I tried it and it stopped the smoke and overheating. No more coolant loss either. It's been running fine for over a year now. I would reccomend Dura Seal head gasket sealer to everyone... Great product! Also the tech department guys really know what they are talking about...

Does duraseal really work for head gasket problems?

Do not use Duraseal if you have a turbo diesel engine. I tried it on my 2008 Ford F350 6.4 diesel as a last resort after replacing my rad, hoses and other misc. cooling system items. System was air tight after doing the work as I checked with Airlift 5000 and held 25 psi for 2 minutes plus. Oil temp and coolant temps were within 2 to 7 degrees of each other before doing the Duraseal fix attempt. Did it on the weekend of 12-27-2014. After fix, drove truck at least 75 miles and coolant to oil temps deltas were 30 plus degrees without a load, more with a small load on. Local Ford mechanic encountered another person with same problem after attempting to use product. It didn't fix the head gasket problem either. They want you to try another attempt for free but why would you make the problem any worse. They won't refund your money after this either. There is no bending with this company. They claim to formulate for individual engines, so they should be willing to refund the money if this sort of thing happens. The tech was trying to say there was something wrong with the cooler before hand, but that's impossible with the minor temp difference. I even used there flush before doing their procedure. It would be good business practice to refund my money under these circumstances since it didn't work and it clogged a perfectly functioning oil cooler. DO NOT BUY DURASEAL!!!!!!!!! They are a no compromise company! They are unwilling to satisfy when the product doesn't work and does harm to components!

My 1999 cadillac sts overheats alot i was told i have a cracked head but i think it is just the gasket how hard is it to change the gasket on this cadillac?

It hasn't been stated whether this is a Cadillac Seville STS, or an SLS. No matter, as they both use the 4.6 Liter, Dual Overhead Camshaft engine.

I would rate this as an 8, on a 1 to 10 scale. It would be a 10, if this Cadillac used wet sleeves. (Some Cadillac engines had a basic engine block, that had the water jackets open. The cylinders, are simply thick metal round tubes, with an O-ring at the bottom, and top. These set down in the block, and are held in place by the head.
There is a head gasket used also. When doing head work, or anything that involves removing the cylinder head, the wet sleeve cylinder, must NOT be disturbed from it's setting. If the cylinder is bumped, it can move, and the pattern the piston has made, will be disturbed. This means re-honing that cylinder. Lots of fun, these engines!)

Have you had experience with dual overhead camshaft engines? If yes, this is right up your alley. If not, be prepared for a small learning curve.

The engine must be removed. This is a transverse engine. The rear cylinder head May clear the firewall, it may not, if trying to remove it in the car. However, it is absolutely no fun trying to lay across the engine, and clean the gasket surfaces of the block!
This is just the tip of the iceberg, of bad things to come, when trying to replace the head in the car!

Just my advice.

If your engine coolant is an orange or yellow color then yes you should stay away from the green antifreeze it will ruin gaskets and void any warrenty you have left. What year is your vehicle?
