Why does my 97 dodge ram start, checked the battery & alternator both are good.

i'm assuming you are asking why it won't start, since you stated that it did start-but with issues. I would look at load testing the battery if it is older first. If the battery is new, then I would be looking at how fast it cranks over, and looking at spark. It should be yellow, not orange. Orange indicates weak spark.

I have a 2008 GMC Sometimes when I use the remote it will not start. Then I'll go start it with the key it will not start. I'll wait 10- 15 mins and try with the key again it will start

The reason you can not start the engine on the second try is because there is raw fuel in the cylinders. It takes a little while for the fumes to pass enough for the engine to start. If you try to start the engine W/O the remote start. Will the engine start on the first try? If the first attempt to start the engine is only successful if there is an extended crank then there is a problem within the ignition system. No big or serious but more likely, in need of some maintenance. I've seen problems with carbon build-up. When was the last complete tune-up? A clean engine is a happy engine. Look into the maintenance history first. If it needs an oil change, then it is time. Perform a tune-up (if it needs one), inspect the COP's (coil over plugs) and look for damage to the coil boots, inspect the plugs and take a close look at the electrode (were they firing clean, wet with oil or fuel, or coated with white chalky build-up), look at the air filter (light can not pass through more than 50% of the entire surface then replace it), inspect the MAF sensor (remove and look at it only. do not touch the tiny sensors) and if the sensors are dirty then buy some MAF sensor cleaner and spray it till it is clean, Do not use compressed air to dry it off. It will be just fine without any drying aid. Look at the TAC unit. Look at the butterfly and the opening around it. If there is carbon around the opening then remove and clean the TAC unit. The carbon build-up can cause the butterfly to stick and also throw off the air/fuel ratio. You didn't didn't mention if the engine light was on or not. If there are any other symptoms that you didn't mention earlier please let me know. I don't think this "Remote No Start" issue has anything to do with the remote start system. I hope this helps and I'd like to hear back from you. Please let me know how you make out and what you found. If you have other questions please ask away, good luck.

1988 Dodge Omni won't start

On the positive side of battery Julie is where your fusible links are,you say it's getting hot,I would follow all wires, look for burnt or swollen wires, they go to starter. Here's a wiring diagram,it shows that you have 3 fusible links leaving your positive battery, they need looking at,check all wiring in line with positive battery cable.Look at diagram number 25,enlarge to see.

Hello You will have to reset your fuel pump switch located passenger side right foot kick panel when you press it it should stay down if this does not work your probably looking at a fuel pump not working.

Hi all, Got a 2l-t Toyota motor that started to smoke white smoke suddenly, using also oil. Where do one start looking? It smoke while idling and sometimes when I start decreasing speed. Louis

this can be serious, like a blown head gasket or cracked head. has it been overheated lately? good antifreeze used? even then you can have head problems, are you losing water? oil? check the oil and look for water in the oil, check the water and look for oil in the water, is the water abnormal looking? rusty? all these are symptons of head problems

Won't start. Runs terrible. changed plugs, wires, fuel pump, coil. plugs smelled of gas and were blackened.

Not terribly familliar with honda cars but most systems use either a cold start injector or just richen up mixture through the normal fuel system. This is controlled by a temperature sensor, either separate from or part of dash gauge sensor. I'd begin looking for that. If its always in "cold start" if will give you symptoms like yours. If not fuel injected, check choke operation. This may not be a "cure" but it's a good place to begin looking!
