Do you have a key fob? Unlock the car with that and you should be OK. My sons Elantra is the same way, you can only get in with the fob. I guess the car thinks it's being stolen otherwise. If you don't have a fob, I'm no help

SOURCE: starter wont crank on a 2000 oldsmobile intrigue

Check your manual if you have it. I believe you need to have the key in the ignition in the ON position for about 10 minutes to reset the security system.

SOURCE: 1992 toyota celica key wont turn and alarm system going off

The steering lock may be binding the ignition lock cyl preventing the key from turning or the key may be worn out. Try turning the steering wheel back and forth while wiggling and turning the ignition key. To get the alarm to turn off without starting the car try locking and unlocking the vehicle from the passenger side door. There is a micro switch on the drivers side door lock cyl that may be bad and preventing the alarm from dis arming. This is all providing it is a toyota factory alarm sys.

Theft light flashs ignition wont even click

When the light is flashing, the theft system is armed and immobilizing the car. Try leaving the ignition key in the on position for 10 minutes. See if the light stops blinking and goes off-if it does, the system is reset. Turn key to off and then try to start it.

RTM !
http://justgivemethedamnmanual.com/honda/honda-cr-v-owners-manuals/

page. 65, see page 65?
easy huh? door open indicator is said
and say go to page 70 , so.....
im not sure, but may be they dont want the car started, with doors open?

page 85
When you turn the ignition switch to
ON (II), the Immobilizer System
indicator should come on for a few
seconds, then go out. If the indicator
starts to blink, it means the system
does not recognize the coding of the
key. Turn the ignition switch to
LOCK (0), remove the key, reinsert
it, and turn the switch to ON (II)
again.

so is the IMMO killing starts.?
no?
then page 200, shows how to start, the car.
if you cant crank, say so, if it cranks but wont start
is the IMMO blinking
is the CEL on key on? no started , in not there is a fuse blown.

set in car and turn on the ignition switch but do not start it. the security light will be on and wait from 10 to 15 minutes and the light will start blinking and after the 10 minutes or so it will go solid. when it does this turn off the key and then start car.

Starting problem

Look at top center of dash when you turn key to on position look for a red light, if light blinks fast you have a problem with your antitheft system if it goes off in 3 seconds it is ok. If blinking fast you may have a bad key or unprogrammed key or another problem in that system. It would be best to take it to a dealer to have it looked at.

Dont know how to reset or bypass gm theft system car is not starting .It tries and quits.

this is one way to reset it :
first make sure the battery is fully charged , then do the following:
key in the ignition but do not crank the motor, just leave it at the
ignition mode for ten minutes ,then turn it off POSITION for 5 seconds then REPEAT again 2 more times. at the 3 rd time youre gonna notice the ANTI THEFT light on dash to blink. when doing the last step , remove key , inserted again and turn on motor , good luck , AJ

Factory security system

it is the diode in your key. it is no longer making a solid contact with the connections in your ignition. If you go to the dealership they will charge you about 400.00 to get a new key and ignition. But you can also go to a smaller repair shop (no chain affiliation) and ask them to possibly splice in the diode to the wires under the dash that make that connection should only be aroung 100.00. your security sys will no longer work like it did but you can still lock your doors.
