The heating element sign used to start my diesel ford comes on when the car is being driven with throttle uphill. What does this mean?

It means you have a problem with glow plug control module , may have DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Have it checked out .

assuming dsl means diesel...these engines are not capable of creating vacuum to driveyour power brakes, they use an external source of vacuum, called a vacuum pump. they are either belt driven or electrical...given your age i would say belt driven...

There is a ticking/knocking noise coming from engine and the interior of car you can smell the diesel on ford fiesta 1.4dtci on 56 plate.


Have your valve clearance checked for that noise. As well as the diesel smell, fuel lines must be checked for
leaks. If your car is emitting heavy smoke, and it seems to loose power going uphill, your engine must
be due for overhauling. However, if your problem is just
knocking and diesel smell, valve clearance adjustment
and fuel line check up will correct the problem.

Diesel light sensor comes on. what does it mean?


if its a 2008 and newer its a regeneration light,which means it heats up the exhaust to 1500 degrees to burn off the contaminates in the filter in the exhaust system

There is leak in the fuel system and air is coming in somwhere. Maybe the hoses with the injectors are leak.
