Hi thanks it is a 2002 model noturbo but I also got an idea that the problem lies with the dieselpump maybe it leaks diesel in to the oilsystem how will I KNOW IF IT IS THE RINGS OR LEAKY VALVES.

  • magna buff Dec 12, 2016

good idea to fix that leaky fuel pump ,,about the rings and valves all cylinders get a "compression test " with a suitable compression tester guage ..screws into the glow plug hole then crank motor over a few times

Hi magna thanks again that was my intention to check the compression another problem that I have is the gearbox it leaks oil out at the oilseal where the propshaft enters the gearbox do I need to take the gearbox out to replace the seal or can I do it from underneath the car

gearbox out to fix a leaking rear engine seal ... its normally a round seal in a housing . if engine is left in engine bay .under the car to get to the seal

Motor oil went up a lot in the crankcase

Assume you mean the engine oil level on the dipstick is getting higher?

I would be surprised if it is hydraulic oil (unless you know different) but I suppose diesel fuel is a possibility though it is many years since I have heard of such a thing, especially if the engine is otherwise running smoothly.
The last time I saw that was on a small diesel engine with a conventional dpa type injection pump driven by oil-fed gears. The pump had sprung a leak and begun to fill the engine. There was no mistaking the strong smell of diesel...

An internal coolant leak can have the same effect but without the smell of fuel.

Ford e 350 runs rough blows black smoke until you restart it

the truck is either an e350 0r f250 right? now which?
Gas powered rigs ? call the dealer to inquire about outstanding recalls. inspect your fuel pressure regulator for the correct number
F4TZ or newer should be seen. check the oil dipstick for a fuel smell. if the spark plugs show excessive fuel or carbon. change the oil first, and the filter. then use an update regulator, and tune up.
diesel rigs? theres a possibility of fuel injector pump and or injector problems. first determine the glow plug system is right. see a diesel tech about what diesel fuel system yours is equipped with, do the required maintenance, and with good parts does it smoke cold only, warm only or both. then you can begin to get answers. several systems were used and engine displacement must be known to look it up. a faulty glow plug controller or inoperative glow plugs can contribute to cold smoke, a faulty injector pump or leaky injectors can cause warm smoke. some diesels have the newer system and there are a series of updates you must have. parts are very expensive so do your homework first. build date, engine size, injector type, outstanding recalls, tsb's tech service messages. these can all be found at the ford dealer. they will be happy to answer your questions.

I have a Nissan frontier 2001,and i spend to much gas,i did check the oil level and the oil smell to gas

I do not know the model whether is Petrol or Diesel. Any one of the two is the fuel gets into oil due to problem with the fuel pump either diaphragm or diesel pump oil seal. Ask an expert to check it.

Smokes blue smells like diesel when revved up

Blue smoke is oil. If you have visible oil smoke and the diesel smell which would be associated with the burnt oil you should be getting your engine looked at by qualified mechanics. You have a serious problem which could easily turn into a new engine if not looked into soon. It could be bad rings, worn engine, stuck valve(s), burnt valve(s), all of which are repairable.

Mitsibushi pajero oil light time

White SWEET smelling smoke, or white OILY smelling smoke? If it's white thick SWEET smelling smoke, you have a blown head gasket - that's the smell of antifreeze burning in the engine, which it should NEVER do. If it's white OILY smelling smoke (smells a lot like diesel), then you're getting too much fuel into the cylinders.

If it's sweet-smelling smoke (antifreeze), pull the oil dipstick & check the oil level. If the oil level is HIGH and the oil looks like a mocha milkshake, that's absolutely conclusive - that's what happens when antifreeze gets into your oil, and it's nasty corrosive to engine parts.

I'm not at all surprised that the oil light is on if it won't start - you won't get much oil pressure until the engine is running.

We think it is the diesel injection pump but not sure

Sounds like not all the glow plugs are working. It should run fairly smooth on a cold start if all of the glow plugs are working..Also you shouldn't drive off on a cold start with a diesel,Its really hard on the motors..At least give them 10 to 15 min on a cold start..The oil in them is a really thick oil and when there drove on a cold start theres no oil lubricating the internal parts and will cause the motor to seize up..You may already no this and dont mean you drive it as soon as you start it i just wanted to let you know..When you get alot of white smoke it could be two things,Theres water in the fuel which will make it not have much power die and smoke..But if it runs fine when its warm theres some bad glow plugs...Hope this helps you and have a great day
