I was told you could not add Freon. If you can, what kind where is it located?

Open the hood. There is a tag for the A/C. It tells you what type and much the system holds. R134A is used mostly. But I had just read an article about new freon they are starting to use. It didn't state if they were compatible. as far as the ports. There are two of them. High side has a big cap, low has a small cap. Not hard to find, follow the aluminium lines. You add at the small cap/low pressure line.

WHERE DO YOU PUT FREON IN A 1999 DODGE RAM VAN

Along the condensor lines, you will find 2 ports that should have screwed on black caps, you will then remove the cap. Dependant on the year, you may need to upgrade the system R-12, vs R-134a; and recharge kits are available at various locations depending where you live. Also, the AC system is charged based on pounds, so be extra careful when attempting a new charge. Some vehicles only require 2 lbs.

How to DIY recharge freon

Saturns don't take freon, they take 134a refrigerant. Locate the low pressure port. Start the vehicle and turn the air conditioning on high and recirculate. Attach the hose and hold it upright. As you add the refrigerant alternate the top of the can from the 12:00 to 3:00 of 9:00 position.

Have no power to a/c compressor for my 1993 turbo diesel non-power stroke f350. checked fuses they are okay. jumped hot wire and ground over from battery and the compressor kicks on.

You have either a bad pressure switch or your system is to low on freon. pressure switch is located near evaporator close to fire wall to check use jumper wire across the 2 terminals if compressor turns on add freon the chances are that the switch is ok. make sure to add the freon on the low side of system and use a gauge on the fill hose (the better fill kits have the gauge on the hose). If you get cold air out the vents and then after a bit it doesn't seem cold you have a leak in the system. Make sure to use the correct type of freon should have a sticker under the hood. I think it should be R-134A but make sure the sticker will tell you the correct type.
Thanks for using FixYa Hope this sheds so light on your problem

1994 TOYOTA PICKUP A/C FUSE WHERE IS THIS LOCATED

Mine's in a different location than the previous post ... I've got a '94 Xtra Cab from Japan (pre-Tacoma). Pull the glove box ... 3 screws across the
top and then a screw and bolt below. There's a small covered fuse box for a/c and heater on passenger side about where the upper door hinge
attaches to body.

Airconditioner recharge ; how do I locate the "low" or suction side of the system in order to charge with R-134a

The charge level is too low? How do you know? Too much freon will not cool good just as too low makes the system friezze up. The port is on the side or the reciever dryer behind the strut tower passerger front side near firewall. Days of yore r12 systems the more the better, not so with 134A. If you have to ask this question hire the work done as mistakes will cost way more than the money you'll save doing it yourself

F150 5.4 pickup 2000 air condtioning

your system is a 134a it is not freon based. the lowside is the bigger port and usually has a large black or blue cap on it it should be located near the a/c compressor on the driver side where the line goes to the condensor. your high side should be on the passenger side near the dryer it will be the smaller port and have either a black or red cap. the ,low side pressure should be 35 psi and the high side should be 150 psi. please rate this.....thanks

Location of low pressure air conditioning port?

Follow the biggest a/c line from start to finish.Usually the a/c port is located near the firewall.I have seen the port located under the passenger wheel well. There should be a decal that states the type freon on or near the fan shroud, core support or on the under side of the hood.It is most likely to be type r-12.You can purchase an r-134a conversion kit. If you are not a/c certified to use r-12,you do not need certification for r-134a.

Air Conditioning

#1 you will need r134a freon. #2 the low side service port is located right at the firewall where tha line goes to the evaporator. #3 if wou bought a can of 134a freon with a hose that will hook to it, it will work. all service fittings for 134a freon are the same even though the high side and the low side will always differ
