The power cable from the alternator is not connected to the red battery cable right male shire. The cables alright from the terminal on driver side terminal just in front of hold hinge. Thick black wire should go to cable positive and have power 12 volts even wen motors off as when rite connection it's to positive Post (bolt side post)on battery. Had this problem myself it had a ring with wire but it set on battery sideways wasn't connected rite so I put wire (alyonator) on the aftermarket lead clamp that fixed it could charge cause it connected then hope this helps

2000 chevy 4.3 V6 s10 blazer, alternator not charging the battery

The first sign of alternator or charging system trouble may be dim headlights or an engine that is slow to crank (or will not crank). ... So if the alternator, voltage regulator or wiring that connects the charging system to the battery and electrical system goes bad, it can create serious problems.

Chevy s10 2000 not charging battery just replace alternator

I would check the fuseable links and cables from the alternator and the starter. You should be getting 14volts from the back of the alternator to the starter - battery.
The battery light should be on too.

I have a 2002 chevy blazer 4x4 4.3 ... had to get a jump to get it started ran just fine drove it home shut it off and tried to start it and it just clicks..battery cables are tight and not corroded

is the alternator charging! if it is you have a bad battery. charging voltage with engine on should be at least 13-6 to 14-2 volts at battery if alternator is charging.

My Chevy blazer wouldn't start mad a clicking

this is one of two problems (maybe both) ...
1. The battery has been fully discharged before, preventing it from being able to hold a charge properly. This can be tested at a Sears Automotive Center. If the battery is no good, get a replacement and you should be fine (at least for a while). If you are going to go to Sears, have them run a full electrical diagnostic -- if there is something draining your battery while the car is not in use changing the battery will only hide the problem for a few months until the new battery fully discharges, and the same issue with resurface.
2. Your alternator is not charging the battery. It might be pumping out electricity to the wiring that it is connected to, but the charge may not be getting all the way to the battery. Sears can also check this with their diagnostic tools, and should be able to locate and repair the problem for you. Unfortunately, without a VERY expensive diagnostic machine, it is very hard to tell exactly where the problem is occurring .. so taking it in to a shop is probably your best bet.

My 2000 Chevy Blazer battery light is on. This

Could be anything from corrosion on cables, loose cables, lose or faulty wiring of wires behind alternator
defective voltage regulator. Visually inspect all the items noted. Then use a volt meter and measure the charging voltage of the alternator. It must be between 13,5 to 14.5 volts with and without accessories on at idle and 2000rpm. Anything below 13.5 weak battery or defective alternator ,lose wiring , corrosion. Anything above the 14.5 volts is a defective regulator.

Was the alternator checked by a machine that monitors its output? Sounds to me like the alternator isn't charging.
