SOURCE: On the 2000 jaguar s-type, what is, Cats system

Cats was a optional extra from the factory. It is adaptive damping. It basicialy softens or stiffens the shock absorbers to your driving style.

It may seem that one of your shock absorbers has developed a internal pressure fault. A local garage with a code reader can tell you wich shock absorber to check. Would be worth checking the electrical connectors that plug into the top of the shock absorber to make sure they are not damaged.

Look's like you may need a new shock absorber

How much do jag s type shocks cost on average or are there better ones to use after market versus OEM shocks? Also can the factory super charger be added without any major modifications?

Munroe are good shocks. Details in the link.

Adding a supercharger for a car is not an easy job and would need pulleys and possibly strengthening of some internal parts. You would have to go to a tuner.

Get a garage to put the car on a diagnostics rig to see what your cats system fault is.

I have a 2001 Jaguar S-Type. Suspension is out & dashboard msg reads "CATS Systems Fault". Located the ADCM, but don't see any corrosion at connectors. Could fixing be as simple as replacing the ADCM?

the adaptive damping system, adcm. is linked to the abs system. it controles the valves in the shock absorbers to make the suspension hard or soft and i think it adaptes to how you drive. you should take your car to someone with suitable diagnostic equipment to get the fault codes out of the system, the problem is more than likely one of the shock absorbers. the system defaults to hard suspension when a fault is present and puts that warning on. hope that is helpfull.

I have a 2001 Jaguar Stype and i recently took my car to the mechanics to have the suspension changed. Once i turned on my car the sign saying CATS System fault appeared, what might be causing that to...

the new suspension may not have the necessary sensor and so the wire was not connected . Or the wire to the sensor was not connected.. It may be necessary to reset the CPU after the change.

On display it saids cats system fault. What is that?

One of the sensors in emission system is sensing a fault IE: bad converter, bad 02 sensor... Have a good shop read fault codes(OBII scan) to get exact problem addressed
