First is to check for drips under care, should be obvious if you are losing a lot of oil in short period of time. If you don't see any obvious leaking under car, if you were burning oil, you would see smoke from tailpipe, blueish color, would be obvious as well if it was burning at a rapid rate.

Good luck, FREE-PPV

Changed the spark plugs and the old ones were covered in oil

Your valve cover gasket is leaking, allowing oil to get into the spark plug holes. You'll need to replace the valve cover gasket.

Oil 1 or 2 qt 2000 miles with no smoke white or

as long as your Catylitic converter is working then you may not see smoke .. but the converter may be operating really hot .. and it may eventually be damaged .. since there are no external leaks detected then the most likely thing in the engine is the valve guides .. those can be repaired in a shop that does that kind of work (head rebuilding) .. you could have piston ring wear but not as likely since you changed oil regularly .. you could have a compression check done that will tell you the health of the rings .. also make sure the pcv valve is replaced or cleaned (if you have one) ... if its clogged then oil could be blown out when you are driving and not when you are sitting still .. you should still see some signs of that .. at any rate if its burning oil that much then the next expensive problem will be the catylitic converter .. so its important to get the problem fixed sooner than later ...

1999 Saturn SW2. High coolant temp and transaxle warning light comes on intermittant. Auto trans. Runs and sounds fine. Any idea of the cause/cure?

check the tranny fluid. if it's dark brown it and the filter should be changed. they can do this at most oil change places. but it could be as simple as some loose sensor wires. hope this helps.
don't forget to add 50% water and coolant to your resevoir tank of your coolant when it's low.

It is pretty straight forward. You need to drop the front portion of the exhaust, and remove the brace and torque converter dust shield. There is not a gasket. Just rtv. Honda bond works very well, about a 6mm bead all the way around.
