What type of engine coolant does a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan?

provided that all the old coolant is completly flushed out any good 50-50 low no silacates antifreeze will work. The trational Green fluilds will all mix with each other b ut not the other colors, Some combinations will gel or silt up and then insulate or clog up the compleate cooling system. All antifreezes are marked to tell you what manufacyures minium spechs they will pass. The thing to remember is all the old fluild ( no matter what kind it is) Needs to be completely flushed out with clear water. and if your mixing the new coolant yourself it's best to use distilled water as many of the additives to drinking water aren't nessaryly a good coolant. Of course your dealer will sell you the Chysler Anti freeze for your car but you don't have to and the ones that are marked 50/50 are ready to go you just pour them in.

What type of coolant does it use

Glycol based (green color) 50/50 with water is fine. Just make sure you bleed the system if you need to add alot. Trapped air in the coolant system can cause overheating. Also, change your thermostat every 30k miles.

Water coolant kind for canada. 1998 f-150

The Factory recommends a 50/50 (do not exceed 50% coolant mix) mix of any coolant meeting the specs under "Long Life" or "Extended Life Coolant", Preston is a good choice but there are many others including the Ford coolant from the dealer.

whar steps do I take after draing the coolant from the radiator. I have a 1999 chysler 300m. Should the engine be running while replacing the coolant. This car does not have a radiator cap to remove. Do I just add the coolant in the resivor while the engine is running?

I have a 1997 chevy lumina what kind of antifreeze should i use?

The dealer recommend GM Dex Cool Antifreeze.
But there are complaint against this type of coolant.

In GM cars we replace Dex Cool with Prestone green coolant.
It's up to you. Ask before but if you decide to change the type of coolant then:
If your intention is to add coolant only, then you need:
Mix with
ANY COLOR ANTIFREEZE
ALL MAKES ALL MODELS
of cars and light trucks
add to ANY color antifreeze
PRESTONE
50/50
PREDILUTED ANTIFREEZE/COOLANT
EXTENDED LIFE up to 150000/mile 5 year protection.
DO NOT ADD WATER.

If your intention is to flush the RADIATOR (Cooling System), then you need:
Mix with
ANY COLOR ANTIFREEZE
ALL MAKES ALL MODELS
of cars and light trucks
add to ANY color antifrezze
PRESTONE
EXTENDED LIFE up to 150000/mile 5 year protection.
On the back you have to read directions:
Step 1 Drain. Step 2 Flush. Step 3 Fill.
Recommended to ad 30% to 50% volume, distilled water. If you flush the system and rinse with water you must add only 30% water to the antifreeze. There is more water trapped inside the engine compartment, because the thermostat is closed. Make sure to have a coolant density tester. When you finish one of 5 balls must sink, that indicates that you reached 50/50 strength. That means 50% Prestone and 50% Water, which will provide to your car a -34F degree FREEZE-UP Protection , and +265F degree BOILOVER protection. The next day, with a cooled engine open radiator cap, and test the strength of coolant. If not quite right, then siphon coolant from the radiator and add antifreeze, or distilled water as necessary.
Make sure to disposal the used coolant properly.

What kind of special coolant is needed for a 2002

Its an extended life coolant. Adding regular coolant to the extended life coolant will ruin the extended life characteristics of the extended life coolant. Any good parts store will have coolant compatible with your vehicle.

When your cooling system is ready to be serviced (flushed) most shops will convert it to regular green coolant. Although the green coolant will not last as long as the extended life coolant it is much cheaper even with the more frequent service intervals.

yes as long as u use the new log/extended life coolant your car calls for, 50/50 is correct mix for all antifreeze.
