SOURCE: hii have replaced the bonnet and the grill and the bonnet catch b

Yes but the bonnet was latched by it's strike to the latch attached to your cars radiator support therefore pulling the radiator support out of alignment and the hood/bonnet and strike are in the proper position. The solution is to adjust the bent radiator support to it's latch is in alignment with the strike.
Good luck

How do I open the bonnet of my 2009 bow 740? Tried banning on it with someone pulling lever as advised by RAC but no joy

Provided there is still resistance felt in the lever indicating that the cable is still intact have someone put one hand on the bonnet between the grill and the left head light and the other hand in the same place next to the right headlight and while pushing down on the bonnet in these two locations then have someone pull on and hold the lever up then release your weight from the bonnet and try pulling up whilst the person is holding open the lever, if it opens the two bonnet latches need lubricating.

Removing bonnet lock

The vehicle identified shows a Focus and you wrote about a Mondeo, so this is confusing as the Mondeo is a larger car.
There are some Salvage yards which let you pull your own parts. Call some yards and find your Mondeo or Ford 500, a sister car.
If you are fortunate enough to find one basically intact in front, you will be able to see how it is put together. It will let you discover the size and type of fastener used, and whether the rear hinges are accessible with the Bonnet closed. Sometimes if the release is jammed at one end, unbolting the other end of the Bonnet will free the jammed part enough to release.
Sometimes a good price on a Salvaged grille will justify destroying the original grille to gain quick access to all the mounting bolts. You will be probably saving 10 Fold on the time needed to repair this, even with replacing the grille.
I hope this will help you decide. Or if no Salvage yard exists, visit a Resale lot and look under the Bonnet of an identical car for what you need to see.

Bonnet release cable has snapped how do i get into the engine bay to fit a new one?

it depends where the cable snapped. it it snapped near the opener just get a vice grip plier grip the cable and pull. the cable passes inside the left fender, just remove the fender liner and you can access it from there. if it snapped near the catch you need to remove the bumper and or grille

Bonnet release in grill broke renault megane scenic

when you say the bonnet has been pushed in do you mean like in a traffic accident if this is the case then is your grill damaged, the reason i say this is the only way you are going to open your bonnet is through your grill so a replacement grill will be needed.if you take this course of action, take a torch and look up under the bonnet you will se the bonnet realease at the very front of your bonnet it will have the bonnet realease cable attached you might need help at this stage, get a friend to push down on your bonnet, put your hand in and push or pull the lever until it releases as this works on a hook system and with the damage it might need a pretty stronge screwdriver to force it always remember the radiator is very easly damaged and very costly to replace .Hope this will help you get your bonnet open .adrian

Cant open bonnet of Ford Focus x reg grill operated key lock wont turn

Stuck lock, bonnet won’t open ,,,
You do not need to drill holes in the grill or pay ford £200+
DIY..How?
Look into the grill at the top you will find the bottom of 6 plastic revscrews, 4 you get two via the grill slots use a chisel and cut them off, Then one either end of the grill. Place the chisel between two plastic layers, gently lift , check and cut, one each end.
With a wiggle that’s the top loose, There are two clips holding the bottom in place Put your fingers through the bottom slot in the grill, push down clip and greatly pull the grill, do both sides, It won’t come right out but your aim to loosen it., The lock is held in place in a sleeve with a plastic clips each side, you have push the barrel with a suitable item, this is to push it out of the sleeve and out of its housing, It may need a tap!!
Gently wiggle and pull the grill off

Lock
The lock is a ‘lock barrel along a shaft to a white plastic coupling’ this fits in to the ‘bonnet lock’
The security is at the coupling to bonnet lock in the form of a cross shaped plastic key
The key is fitted and held in place in the coupling, and when installed it’s fitted in to the lock, and once it’s in the lock part it will not come out, so therefore any jolt, pull, movement dislodges the plastic key from the coupling side and due to its design it will not slot back in so the lock barrel just rotates
To open you have to apply pressure on the shaft towards the left and into the coupling and turn the key in the lock barrel at the same time in a aim to get the coupling to catch the plastic key (take a few minutes) but it opens in the end if this is the fault, (alternatively remove the two bolts that hold the bonnet catch to the bonnet)
Once bonnet open remove the bonnet lock mechanism, then with draw the lock barrel, shaft, coupling, By looking in side you will understand regarding the cross key
Anyway you need to remove one of the catches from the side of the plastic key This way it will fit back in to coupling.
Reassemble
This is a brief description But the cost to me was 45 minutes, £2 for a pack of plastic rivets / screws, and I cached my bumper with the chisel £5 for a touch up stick Total £7. Well worth the time and effort
