Ac compressed not kicking on put a new relay and still not kicking on


2 things if its not above 45 degrees it wont come on , and did u check Freon level with gauge keep in mind while system is off it show a reading like its over filled so shoot some Freon in see if kicks on while engine is running

The a/c system is probably low on freon. The pressure sensor sees a low pressure reading on the low side and it turns the a/c off so the compressor does not burn up.

I have a 1997 Lincoln continental.When I turn on the a/c I can hear the compresser kick in but it goes right back off and the whole time the ac is running it keeps trying to kick in but keep cutting off. I...


It will be in the yellow section if the compressor isn't running. Go ahead and hook up the gauge. When the compressor kicks on the pressure should drop to below 15 and then the compressor should kick off. Is it doing this? If yes go ahead and add freon. The yellow section means the pressure is high but you only have to worry about it if the gauge reads in the yellow with the compressor kicked on.

My '90 taurus quit running and won't start. it cranks, but won't fire. The battery is fine. my neighbor said something about a module? what and where is it and how do I test it?


He's talking about the TFI module located plugged on the bottom of the distributor. I would listen for the fuel pump if it is kicking on or not. If you turn the key forward don't start the car listen for fuel pump to kick on. If it's not kicking on then you have a bad fuel pump. Fuel pressure can be checked with a fuel guage on fuel rail pressure should read 30psi. TFI module can be check if you buy the scan tool for it. In the late 80's to early 90's the TFI module's would get hot and fail. Always keep and extra TFI module with you if that's the problem. Check for fuel first before doing the TFI module.

Trailblazer A/C clutch blows hot !


If it is cycling then its low on freon .. Try to put in one can and this will take care of your problem.. The cycling is due to being low .. The clutch is operated by a pressure switch .. when the clutch kicks in it pressures up but not enough freon will kick it back off and starts over again ... Thanks Jerry

i suspect the thermostatic switch ,this switch reads the temperature of the coolent and sends a signal to the fans to kick in if faulty it will not work .get it tested or replace hope this helps you .adrian
