You maybe able to get it from the dealership, or a salvage yard, you can remove whatever wiring you need.

If the fuel sender wire from tank connects to full side terminal on guage...does power wire hook to empty side of guage?

Year make and model ?
If you have a separate gauge, the power would go to + and the sending unit would go to - .

Need a diagram to hook up wires for the fuel gauge on a 2000 s10

the purple wire is voltage, black wire is ground for sending unit. Both wires from fuel pump sending unit, go to vcm.

The vcm sends serial data message to instrument cluster to control fuel gage.

I hooked up the used tank the gas gauge don't work it keeps blowing the ECM B fuse I changed the ground wire it ran for 15minutes then I put it in reverse and it blew the fuse now it blows when I turn

Check for a princh wire some where on the wireing harness that hooks up to the sending unit on the tank, Or a break in a wire, Or evan bare wires, if you don,t find any of that stuff ,There is a problem with the sending unit on the tank. But to me it sounds like a problem with one of the wires going to it.

Temp gauge doesnt work on my 1993 chevy 1500 p/u. sending unit has 2 wires, but only one is hooked up

If you only have one wire on the sending unit, the other wire is more than likely an independant ground.

the norm is that if a device only has one wire going to it. is grounded by the outer part of the device.

good luck!

Gas gauge does not work

COULD BE THE SENDING UNIT FROM THE TANK! TO ACCESS IT, MAY BE FROM UNDER THE BACK SEAT! THERE WILL BE A ROUND PLATE MOUNTED ON THE FLOOR! YOU'LL HAVE TO REMOVE THAT PLATE, TO GET ACCESS TO THE SENDING UNTI! THERE WILL BE MOUNTING BOLTS HOLDING IT TO THE TANK, ALONG WITH WIRES ATTACHED TO IT! YOU'LL HAVE TO REMOVE THE WIRES FROM THE SENDING UNIT, THEN UNBOLT IT! REMOVE THE SENDING UNIT, AND REPLACE IT! BE SURE YOU HAVE A NEW GASKET FOR THE SENDING UNIT, OTHERWISE IT MAY LEAK! BOLT THE NEW SENDING UNIT BACK IN, AND HOOK THE WIRES BACK UP! BE SURE TO UNHOOK THE NEGATIVE WIRE FROM THE BATTERY BEFORE YOU DO THIS!

How do i check fuel sending unit with multimeter without dropping gas tank. fuel gauge isn't working and didin't want to drop it yet

Find the wires that run to your fuel gage. Hook one wire to one side of a "D" cell battery and the other wire to the other end of the battery. Your fuel gage should peg itself. If so the gage is good. That will tell you that more than likely the sending unit in the fuel tank is bad, If that is the case you will need to drop the fuel tank to remove the sending unit.

Replaced started, turns over and runs but no oil pressure?

First, look to see if the oil sending unit wires were knocked off or damaged during the starter job.
If not, get an external pressure gauge and hook it up where the sending unit is to verify if you have any pressure or not, so the engine doesn't get destroyed.

Fuel gauge does not work at all

i recently did my chev s10 and they give you a new wire harness that you have to splice the wires and hook them up so it now has the same hook up. those wires are for your gauge as well as your pump. if your sending unit was not hooked up you would not go any where..take it back and demand this gets fixed.
